9 hurt in blast at Chrysler supplier plant – Update
The Associated Press is now reporting that nine people suffered minor injuries in an explosion at the Faurecia Interior Systems plant in Northwood, Ohio. A previous report said eight individuals were hurt. No word yet as the the extent of injuries or the workers’ current conditions.
Authorities are still working to determine the cause of the blast. Workers at the plant said they heard a loud pop and saw thick, black smoke.
The Faurecia facillity makes doors modules for the Toledo North plant that assembles the Jeep Liberty and Dodge Nitro. No production delays are foreseen as the supplier has already resumed shipping.
