Dual-clutch reaching Avenger/Sebring?

Reportedly, Chrysler’s dual clutch automatic was to be installed in the Dodge Avenger and Chrysler Sebring, but Getrag was unable to get needed financing, and it fell through. Now, reliable source oh2o reports that a dual clutch automatic from Fiat will be available as an option on high trim levels of the midsized cars, hooked up to the new Pentastar V6 engine, which is projected to hit 270 horsepower on these cars (260 lb-ft of torque) with better gas mileage than the current 3.5 liter, 232 horsepower V6. (The 3.5 reaches 250 hp and 250 lb-ft in the Challenger.)
