“Dodge Hornet” spied
Glenn Paulina caught this Dodge Hornet mule in a test run with some of its camouflage removed, providing a largely unobstructed view of the the grille treatment applied to this Alfa Romeo Giulietta-based mule. As Ralph Gilles said, it has been greatly toned down. A honeycomb grille completes the effect.
Chrysler appears to have been testing the Hornet alongside key members rivals: the Ford Focus, Hyundai Elantra, and the Honda Civic.
The upcoming Dodge Hornet–or whatever this C-segment model is eventually called–will be the first car released by Chrysler using Fiat-based components. According to Sergio Marchionne, the Fiat design was provided to Chrysler, whose engineers then created their own version using wider dimensions (C-US-Wide vs C-EVO).
