Chrysler September Production

Chrysler Group plants in the United States, Canada and Mexico produced 149,994 cars and trucks in September, down 4.1% from September 2010. For the first nine months of 2011, a total of 1,465,189 vehicles have been built, up 19.2% from the same period last year.

Highlights included the Chrysler 200 and 200 Convertible, with production up 56.5% in September. 200 series production from January to September is now 137.9% of last year’s output over the first three quarters. Production of the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited rose 25.1% last month and calendar-year-to-date (CYTD) production of the Jeep Grand Cherokee is up 61.6%. The Windsor Assembly Plant began cranking out the new Lancia Grand Voyager minivan. CYTD Production of non-Chrysler-brand vehicles is up 436% compared to last year.
