Ram launches new trim packages; new features

Ram Truck today announced that the Ram Power Wagon, the reigning Heavy Duty Pickup Truck of Texas, will now be offered in two new trim levels: ST and Laramie.

The new Ram Power Wagon ST will offers the Power Wagon’s legendary capability in a value-oriented package while the Laramie features more comfort and luxury features. Each of the three Ram Power Wagon models (ST, SLT, and Laramie) will have its own distinctive look.

“When it comes to off-road capability, no other pickup truck compares to the Ram Power Wagon,” said Fred Diaz, CEO of the Ram brand. “Expanding the Power Wagon’s availability to ST and Laramie models is not only what our customers have asked for, but also a true measure of the truck’s success and popularity with truck buyers.”

Ram Power Wagon ST:: The Ram Power Wagon ST package is designed for those with daily vocational needs for the Power Wagon’s capabilities. This includes fire and emergency services, mining companies, oil exploration and forestry services for daily off-road duty. The Ram Power Wagon ST features single-tone paint, a black grille, black front/rear bumpers, black fender flares and black mirrors with optional clearance lamps. The interior is unchanged from the ST trim level with the exception of additional controls for Power Wagon’s unique features. Base price is $42,620 including a $995 destination charge.

Ram Power Wagon Laramie: The Ram Power Wagon Laramie adds comfort and convenience features, such as leather seats, premium audio, dual-zone A/C and woodgrain dash and door panels as well as a floor mounted, manual transfer case shifter. On the outside, the package body-colored fender flares, chrome mirrors, bumpers and grille, and unique badging. Base price, including a $995 destination charge is $51,995.

As was originally announced in an August webcast, Ram has announced that it will launch the 2012 Ram 1500 4×4 Crew Cab Mossy Oak Edition, a limited-availability model targeted to the hunter, fisherman, boater and camper. The trucks will arrive in dealerships in December 2011.

As Marissa Hunter, head of advertising for the Ram brand said in August, the cross-promotion with Mossy Oaks will be tied in with a campaign to be rolled out at thousands of Wal-Marts in the U.S.

“Ram Truck owners are deeply involved with the outdoors and proudly participate in hunting and fishing,” said Ram CEO Fred Diaz. “In recognition of the millions of American hunters, we’re launching the Ram Mossy Oak Edition, as we did the Ram Outdoorsman, to keep our focus on the needs and wants of our customers so that they can enjoy their enthusiasm for the outdoors and their sport of choice.”

“The Ram Truck brand has been a great partner to Mossy Oak,” said Ronnie “Cuz” Strickland, EVP of Mossy Oak. “The people there love trucks, but they’re also into hunting and fishing and understand that their customers are, too. To have Ram take that relationship to the next level by offering a special Mossy Oak Edition speaks volumes about their commitment to hunters and Outdoorsmen and women, and we are extremely proud to partner with them.” Ram is the official truck of Mossy Oak and Mossy Oak is the official camo pattern of Ram Trucks.

The Mossy Oak Edition Ram 1500’s bedcaps and tailgate are covered in Mossy Oak Breakup Infinity camouflage pattern and the Mossy Oak logo is prominently displayed on the rear quarter panels. Inside, the center column of the Ram’s instrument panel is finished in Mossy Oak Breakup Infinity, as are the door panel inserts. The Mossy Oak logo is embroidered on the four primary headrests. Buyers also can opt for Espresso Tuscany-colored Katzkin Leather seats with Mossy Oak headrest embroidery.

Ram Mossy Oak Edition available colors include Black, Bright White, Deep Cherry Red Crystal Pearl, Mineral Gray Metallic, Saddle Brown and Sagebrush monotone. The truck is also available in Black, Bright White and Deep Cherry Red Crystal two-tone, with Metallic Gray Metallic lower body. Ram Mossy Oak Edition pricing starts at $39,910, including $995 destination charge.
