Chrysler to add workers in Toledo
The Detroit Free Press is reporting that Chrysler will announce plans to hire as many as 1,105 workers by 2013 for the Toledo Assembly Complex where the Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Liberty and Dodge Nitro are built. The announcement is expected next Wednesday.
The state of Ohio is providing tax incentives to seal the deal for a $365-million investment in the Northeastern Ohio city. Ohio Governor John Kasich and U.S. Representative Marcy Kaptur are expected to be on hand.
Chrysler plans to fill the openings with new employees who will be hired under the Tier II provisions of the recently ratified contract with the United Auto Workers.
