Jeep Arctics coming to dealers this month
Just in time for Winter, the 2012 Jeep Liberty and Jeep Wrangler Arctic editions will be arriving at Jeep dealers in the U.S. and Canada this month.
These special-production Jeeps are inspired by the rugged, extreme winter conditions of the arctic, where winter temperatures that can reach -50°F and wind speeds that can exceed 100 miles per hour, the arctic is well known as one of the most intense climates on Earth.
“There are few environments more grueling and demanding than the arctic, which is just the type of terrain legendary Jeep vehicles are engineered to conquer,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO — Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “Not only will the Jeep Wrangler Arctic and Jeep Liberty Arctic appeal to our loyal enthusiasts, but their unique content will attract new customers to the Jeep brand.”
2012 Jeep Wrangler Arctic: Based on the Sahara, the Arctic is available in Winter Chill, Bright Silver and Bright White. Exterior features include a body-color hardtop and fender flares, “Arctic” badges on the front fenders, a “Yeti Footprint” decal, black hood decal and Mopar® black fuel filler door and taillamp guards. The Wrangler Arctic also offers an aggressive Wrangler Rubicon tire and wheel package, with semi-gloss black 17-inch wheels and 32-inch tires.
Inside are black Tectonic fabric seats with Polar White accents and orange piping and accent stitching. Front seats are heated and feature an “Arctic” logo in the seat back. Accent stitching can also be found on the steering wheel, arm rest and console lid. Door trim and nets are accented in orange, and all grab handles and dashboard vent rings are finished in Polar White trim. Mopar tread pattern slush mats with white “Jeep” lettering complete the Wrangler Arctic package.
2012 Jeep Liberty Arctic: Available on Liberty Sport 4×4 models, the Arctic shares many of the same features as the Wrangler Arctic. Available exterior colors are Winter Chill, Bright Silver, Bright White and Mineral Gray. “Arctic” badges on the front fenders are shared, though the “Arctic” decal on the hood is unique to Liberty. Semi-gloss black 16-inch aluminum wheels with center caps painted semi-gloss black are wrapped in P235/70R16 OWL all-terrain tires. Rounding out the exterior highlights are deep tint glass and tow hooks, blacked-out headlamps and standard fog lamps.
The interior features a black and Arctic Orange color scheme similar to the Wrangler. Seats are covered in black vinyl with a Gortex embossment, and the inserts are Tectonic fabric with Polar White accents. Arctic Orange accent stitching adorns the seat backs, cushions and headrests. Power front seats are heated and feature an “Arctic” logo in the seat back. Finishing touches include gray-faced gauges, express up/down one-touch windows, Media Center 430 touch-screen with a nine-speaker Infiniti sound system and Mopar slush mats with white “Jeep” lettering.
