Belvidere plant to reopen today

The Chrysler’s Belvidere, Illinois, assembly plant is scheduled to reopen today. A parts shortage caused the plant, which makes the Dodge Caliber, Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot, to suspend production Tuesday, idling 2,300 workers.

Chrysler is extending the holiday shutdown period through January 8 at:

Belvidere (Compass/Caliber/Patriot)
Warren Truck
Toledo Supplier Park and Toledo North (Jeep)
Brampton (LX cars)
Windsor (minivans)
Toluca (PT Cruiser and Journey)

Belvidere Plant adds second shift, boosts Caliber production
