Chrysler Group and Indiana-based Cummins announced a “multi-year” extension of their current contract, which calls for Cummins to supply 6.7-liter turbo diesel engines for Dodge Ram pickups and chassis cabs.

Dodge has reportedly set an October 21, 2009 date for final orders of the 2010 model-year chassis cabs, which will be allocated in December. The 2011 Dodge Ram chassis cabs specifications have been leaked from Chrysler, revealing a Hemi V8 power boost to 383 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque; the Cummins turbodiesel will remain at 305 hp, with 610 lb-ft of torque courtesy of a variable-geometry turbocharger.
