By 2014, Chrysler could have a V6 engine pushing out over 400 horsepower, according to charts in the five year plan. The five year plan calls for a complete repackaging of all Dodge cars, with new options mixes, by the end of the fourth quarter of 2009. A complete overhaul of branding, marketing, positioning, and point of sale is to be completed by the end second quarter of 2010.

The new Chrysler and Dodge logos will not be appearing on cars destined for the European market after 2011. Instead, cars sold in the North American market as Chryslers and Dodges will be badged as Lancias and Fiats. The move is designed to save money by reducing distribution costs.

Chrysler Group LLC today reported a 6 percent increase in total U.S. sales compared with September 2009. Chrysler and Dodge brands reported month-over-month increases.

Chrysler filed a new trademark, as Allpar reported in early October (Autoblog kindly noted the earlier report), which incorporates the word “Chrysler,” rather than the round logo, into a new, streamlined wing design. The University of Delaware has inked a deal to buy Chrysler’s former Newark Assembly Plant. The school got a good deal, paying $24.25 million, just over half of the property’s estimated value. In order to facilitate the deal, the university agreed to take responsibility for environmental remediation at the site.
