Fiat SpA, which distributes Chrysler and Jeep vehicles in Europe, reports that Jeep sales soared during the summer as more than 2,400 new vehicles were registered in July (+140.6%) and 1,600 in August (+134.4%). A reader pointed out that the Jeep UK site has no mention of the Jeep Patriot, though it features the Compass, Grand Cherokee, and Wrangler. The reader wrote that Patriot international orders for late summer/early fall delivery were cancelled by the factory without notice, and the next available builds and shipments will not take place [...]

Automotive News Europe is reporting that Gianni Coda, COO for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, has announced his management team. Twenty-eight Fiat and Chrysler Group executives will report to Coda. Those with additional roles, like Chrysler-Lancia boss Saad Chehab, will report to Coda for European activities and to Sergio Marchionne for North America. [...]

As expected, Sergio Marchionne announced Fiat and Chrysler’s unified management team, at an event in Italy (covered by Bloomerg) and Italian financial newspaper Il Sole 24 Oro.
