Chrysler has bought the interests of Hyundai and Mitsubishi Motors and is now the sole owner of the GEMA four-cylinder engine plant in Dundee Michigan, allowing Chrysler to replace the much-criticized 1.8, 2.0, and 2.4 liter “World Engines” with advanced designs from Fiat.

Massive supplier Hyundai Mobis will supply modules used in the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango chassis, starting in 2010. The order will generate around $2 billion in revenue for the Korean company, which already provides chassis components at the Jeep Supplier Park.

Influential research firm J.D. Powers has released a study showing that Dodge could regain fifth place among preferred automotive brands as U.S. light vehicle sales improve in 2010.
