The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Office of Defect Investigations (ODI) has opened preliminary investigation PE12009 into 2010 Jeep Wranglers with automatic transmissions. The ODI received eight reports alleging fires starting in the engine compartment; seven say the fire or symptoms of the impending fire began while driving.
