Richard Petty Motorsports and Yates Racing say they have signed a letter of intent to merge operations for the 2010 season. In a blow to Mopar fans, the four-car team will be driving Fords under the Richard Petty Motorsports banner.

Joey Saldana showed he had the right stuff last Saturday night as he drove the Kasey Kahne Racing Budweiser Maxim to victory in the inaugural Ironman 55 at I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Missouri. The victory was the 13th World of Outlaws Sprint Series triumph of the season for the Mopar-powered driver.

Kasey Kahne turned in his fourth top-10 finish in the last five NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races, coming in seventh in Sunday’s Allstate 400 at the 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
