Mopar/J&J Racing NHRA Full Throttle Pro Stock driver Allen Johnson saw his race day cut short at the NHRA Las Vegas Nationals as he lost to Jeg Coughlin in the first round. However, Mopar ruled the day; The final run was all-Mopar HEMI-powered as Larry Morgan emerged victorious, beating Rickie Jones.

Working together, the Westcotts, Charlie Sr. and Charlie Jr., pulled off another victory last night in the Mopar NHRA HEMI Challenge at the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis. It was Charlie Senior’s turn this time; he and his 1968 Hemi Barracuda bested David Barton, of Robesonia, Pennsylvania.

Dave Kanners, who partnered with Richard Maskin in campaigning AMC Hornets on the Pro Stock tour in the 1970s, passed away on Friday, March 27, after a five-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Kanners died just days before celebrating his April 1st wedding anniversary with his wife Sue.
