Chrysler has sent out notices to owners of 2006 and 2007 minivans informing them that their rear air conditioner’s evaporator is now warranted for 7 years or 70,000 miles, whichever comes first, due to a leak which can occur “under certain limited operating conditions.”

Chrysler is dropping its lifetime warranty from 2010 models, though it will remain on 2009 models. Instead, the company will provide a free 5 year, 100,000 mile powertrain warranty, which, instead of being transferable, is assigned to the car itself, so that anyone who buys a used 2010 Chrysler, Dodge, or Jeep second-hand, third-hand, etc., [...]

With the emergence of Chrysler Group from bankruptcy, the Obama Administration is terminating its program that essentially provided government guarantees for new vehicle warranties. Allpar members report Chrysler has made some changes to its Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle service programs.
The new programs became effective March 9th; they feature two levels of coverage with the base limited warranty.
