Just bought another one (1997). | | 2008-05-01 | 1993 Dodge grand caravan ES | Known, not shown | 201,236 | 3.3 liter v6 4speed automatic | ABS parts of brake system, very expensive, o2 sensor, map sensor, still has original fuel pump and timing chain | this engine has been loved since I got it at 137,000 miles. runs very smooth and have had no problems with it or the transmission which is original, always changed oil every 3,000 and transmission oil at 30,000 with only chrysler atf-3 oil also has trans. cooler. this is my second Dodge caravan with the same engine to make over 200,000 miles. I love how smooth they ride too. | | 2008-04-30 | 2000 Chrysler 300M | George Schoneman | 222,061 | 3.5 V6 4 speed AUTOSTICK | Nothing major, steering rack at 168k miles, a/c compressor at 160k miles. Normal maint and regimented upkeep. | Looks, runs and drives like a 50k mile car. One of the best cars I have ever owned | | 2008-04-30 | 1983 Dodge B150 Ram Van | Rowan Hawkins | 225,000 | Stock LA 318 2bbl with the A-833 (OD 4) on the floor transmission | Clutches, oil changes, ball and u-joints. The bell housing (aluminum) was welded because the one time I had someone else change the clutch, they torqued it down wrong and it cracked when I drove it. | This was my first car ever. in 1998 I received it from a bus garage who used it for hauling engines and as a parts getting truck at 150K. Seven months after I purchased it, at 162K, the stub for the speedometer pinion gear in the tail sheered when the spedo cable which was resting on the exhaust bound up - I never fixed it. The mileage is estimated, but I was driving at least 20K miles a year over the time I had it. Bi-weekly trips Syracuse to Rochester (180 miles), monthly to Buffalo (300 miles) and Binghamton (150 miles), some trips to to Philly (440miles).
It had the Highway Package which consisted of the manual transmission and the 36 gallon fuel tank. I pulled it off the road in 2002 when I put an '87 B250 Ram Van on the road. I was tired of chunks of body/floor falling off when I slammed the doors. The engine still ran great.
| | 2008-04-29 | 1991 Dodge Grand Caravan LE | John Lubbers | 203,500 | 3.3L V6 2WD | anti-lock system components failed & replaced under warranty/recall in 2002. | Transmission started slipping in reverse & low gears about 140K miles. Doing a full tranny fluid flush and filter replacement about every 30-40K miles seems to be keeping it in check and running good. | | 2008-04-27 | 1993 Dodge Grand Caravan | Jose & Kimberly Lara | 200,251 | 3.3 liter, 4speed | radiator has been replaced 3 times, engine rear seal replaced, rack and pinion replaced. | This van is a great work horse. | | 2008-04-24 | 1986 Jeep cherokee | Les Brennan | 204,543 | Automatic V-6 2.8 litre | water pump...runs like a tank with 3000 mile oil service | Its my Harley and its paid for! [LOL] | | 2008-04-23 | 1995 Dodge Dakota | Joshua | 260,000 | 5.2 port injected. 4 speed w/ overdrive automatic so its technically a 5 speed. 2wd. Dont know the model # but its a badass tranny whatever it is. I love it. and the 8.25 corporate rear end. | Pegged the speedometer in a burnout and blew a thrust bearing out of the differential. 8.25 gear. replaced the diff. Changed out the universal joints on the driveshaft(not that i had to). replaced all four ball joints, inner(not that i had to) and outer tierods. replaced leaking water pump twice. Crack in frame passenger side just behind the upper control arm. Ground out the crack w/ die grinder, welded w/ reversed polarity so the metal would "suck" in the weld rather than cover it up, and reinforced w/ a rectangular cut piece of steel welded over the repaired crack. and thats about it except for tune-ups. | the oil gets changed every 3,000 miles. Use Pennzoil high mileage 10w30. this engine has no sludge whatsoever and with 260,000 miles on it the oil on the dipstick looks new when its time for an oil change.(pretty impressive)I have not had to use Lucas or anything like that, this thing does not knock or tick. Keep in mind i race this truck all over the place and wind out every gear when doing it. This is the best truck i have and will ever own and would drive it forever if not so outdated. | These are great little trucks,I have in the past tried to buy
from customer,he won't budge, won't let his Chief go.Truck has been good main trouble was that terrible steering wobble, trackbar
and its bearing on frame the cause, this is common on these,my 87 comanche had the same trouble same fix.the steering dampner should be replaced with bar/bearing then kept lubricated will be trouble free. | | 2008-04-04 | 2000 Jeep Wrangler | Dave Parker | 202,000 | 4.0L Straight 6, Manual Transmission, 4WD | No major repairs. Replaced the transaxle once since, due to differential carrier bearing failure. | Purchased the Voyager van with a 2.6L MMC engine that had seized the camshaft in head. I replaced it with a 3.0L which already had over 100,000 miles. I tore down the 3 liter and replaced all seals and gaskets as well as the piston rings. It continues to run to this day on the original main and connecting rod bearings which appeared as NEW at the time. At that time, over 10 years ago, the van had around 126,000 miles on the odometer. I have driven this van cross country many times, once towing a car behind, on a dolly, from North Carolina to California. It is a very dependable workhorse. | | 2008-02-27 | 1999 Dodge Intrepid | Doug Bailey | 210,986 | ORIGINAL 2.7 LITER V6!!! It made it! /4 speed automatic | catalytic convertors at 150k, fuel pump at 200k, power steering lines at 203k | My aunt bought this car used in 1999 at around 20k. Its a 99 Intrepid base model, candy apple red, with an agate interior. It was originally a rental car she bought at a Dodge dealer after they obviously bought it from an auction like they do with many fleet vehicles. She owned and maintained this car like it was her child. It's what she used to do a 100 mile commute daily so it was an important part of her life. In September of 2007, I found her an '04 Intrepid SXT loaded up with low miles after the ol girl turned 200k and she thought about it. I felt with the miles she drives, she needs something a little newer with less miles. The next day the high pressure power sttering hose blew and she handed me the keys. I am a Jeep Dodge technician and know these cars like the back of my hand. This is the original 2.7 liter engine and original transmission. My aunt gave me a 3 inch thick folder of receips from the services that've been done to the car. I think what kept this engine going was not only the excellent kept up maintenence record, but that it was able to get hot everyday driving 100 miles and the oil was changed before hitting 3,000 miles every time, creating less of a sludge problem. I bought the car off of her and fixed the power steering lines. I replaced both and have been driving the car since October of 2007 everyday and Ive grown to love it. (Easier on fuel than my 5.2 Grand Cherokee limited too) Other than the ordinary wearable items on a car, the only major things that went wrong were the few things ive listed above. I just think that this is a car that should be noticed because it shows that the disrespected 2.7 liter can make it. I'm not saying it's my favorite engine either and sludge isn't this engines only issue but, this car has proven itself over and over again and should be recognized. Its just pretty...rare :-) | | 2008-02-27 | 1995 Chrysler cirrus lxi | mark | 210,000 | 2.5 v6,a604/41te 4 speed | trans | not bad lasty jeep 225,000,one before 425,000 | |
