1988 Dodge Shadow ES 265,000 2.2L Turbo I Mike White Timing belt went @ 226,000. I have no idea when it was last changed. I had to replace the clutch once every year and a half or so, due to crankshaft problems. This was by FAR the greatest car I ever owned! I purchased it from an older gentleman in north georgia in the summer of 1997 for $1200. The car had 202,000 miles on it when I bought it. Sold the car in January of 2000 with 265,000 miles on it for $1400. It sounds unbelievable, but when I purchased the car, the gentleman swore to me that it still had the original turbo. I recently saw the car in a parking lot, and SHOULD have looked at the odometer. I wouldn't be shocked if it had over 300,000 now.
1987 Dodge B250 265,000 318/727 Thomas Dadisman transmission rebuilt frontend rebuilt
1985 Dodge Mini Ram Van 263,000 2.2 4 speed Sean Oster It is on it's 3rd 4 speed transmission. The engine is tired and I'm sick of shifting and the drive train is being replaced with an injected 2.2 and automatic from a 89 Horizon accident victim with 80,000 miles on it. This van was previously owned by my best friend that dirt track raced motorcycles. We had driven it from coast to coast a few times with a Harley XR 750 in the back. He passed away while racing and my goal is to get the van to 500,000 miles for him. This is also a very hard van to find parts for due to it being a stick cargo model.
1993 Dodge Caravan 260,968 3.0 liter V6 3 speed auto Earlene Shroyer Transmission rebuilt @ 240,000 miles, both front axles replaced. Old faithful, driven 36,000/yr. The most dependable vehicle we've ever owned.
1992 Dodge Dakota 260,768 318 Magnum transmission not sure. Dan Ware. Two water pumps, two fuel pumps and two radiators.1st replacement cheap parts second quality. I, have had extensive repairs in the past few months, due to local mechanics with poor diagnostics and replacing original parts with the wrong parts.See comments. This has been a great truck. I, have only had problems with cooling and fuel pumps. this truck could burn rubber in second gear with 260k miles. I, had a transmission cooling line fail and that is when my troubles began. The trany began to slip a bit. The local transmission shop talked me into an ovehaul. My truck started to miss and had no power, when it was on the rack for final adjusments to the tranny. I, was sent to another shop because a new transmission should not effect how a vehicle runs. 260k miles maybe they are right. Final diagnostics after 1100 dollars to find the problem. A v6 flywheel on a v8 engine. Causes a little confusion with the crank sensor. My truck ran fine for about a week and begain missing. Week two, it would not go over 50 miles an hour. I, am going to work on this problem myself. No local mechanic will ever touch any thing I, drive again. I, got 260k miles with my own Maintence and 460 hundred miles with someone else working on it. I, am working on my truck and a lawer is working on my case. 260k miles might make it a tough one.
1994 Dodge Ram 2500 258,000 Cummins and NV4500 Roy Pruett Nothing that wasn't caused by neglect
1994 Dodge Dakota Sport 4wd Short-Bed 257,500 5.2 w/5 Spd Tom Shea 5spd Replaced under Warranty(40k), as were U-joints. Transfer Case at approx. 150k(hit debris on road) Water Pump-167k, 2nd clutch. Fuel Pump at 180k. Am looking at axle(s) overhaul now. Tailpipe just fell off, rest of exhaust still original. Changed out orig. computer with a MOPAR Perf. unit. Believe it to have greatly contributed to the 5.2's reliability, as well as changing the oil&filter every(average) 3k Ordered truck from Dealer April '94. Have used and abused on a daily basis ever since. Has only stranded me when batteries had reached the end of their service life, and fuel pump retired after way past its service life. Best vehicle I've ever owned. Needs some major TLC now. Starts quickly, runs smoothly and delivers 18mpg.
1987 Dodge Ram 150 255,000 318 JIM DOUGLAS carbon deposits hammered out. rebuilt tranny 235,000. timing chain replaced i STILL DRIVE THIS TRUCK EVERY DAY. VERY DEPENDABLE. LOW GAS MILEAGE. 10 TO 12

1992 Dodge Shadow 248,900 2.5 L body work and oil leak
1992 Dodge Grand Caravan 247,703 3.3 / A604 Scott Mabee Typical water pumps ,tranny problems,cv shafts, this is all understandable being the vehicle is driven by up to 30 different drivers, I'm the mechanic for an association for the mentally retarted,we currently employe 120 people that at one time or another have a crack at wrecking the vehicles( since it's not their own personal vehicle) I've always been a Mopar guy and this just solidifies my preference
1986 Dodge Ram 350 240,000 318/? gordon new exhaust, master cylinder, driver side fender, hood grill, door,{went over embankment} this truck is beat up but it still runs like a top

1992 Dodge Grand Caravan ES AWD 238,854 3.3L and 4-spd electronic Roger Zurro Rebuilt trans at 124,000 miles. Two Fuel pump module (AWD) replacements. A perfect engine-transmission combination. Flawless, dependable performance and respectable (24) highway mileage.
1966 Dodge Coronet 235,000 V-8 (318?) Don Maxwell None. This car was scrapped in 1990, in Richmond, Virginia. At that time the odometer read 23,000-something, having rolled over twice. It had stopped counting miles several years earlier, in Mexico, so the mileage above is an estimate (and probably low). The only engine repairs were two water pump replacements and one alternator. In the end, the oil pressure warning light stayed on below about 60 mph in Drive, but the engine ran just fine anyway, and the oil comsumption was only about a quart in 400 miles. Unfortunately, the floor and rocker panels had rusted out completely, so badly that the car would no longer pass the annual state inspection. The headliner had begun to sag, and there were lots of other small problems. Otherwise, I'd probably still be driving the car. I hope my 98 Grand Caravan Sport 3.3 liter--which I like better than any other car I've owned (since 1953)--will hold up as well!
1990 Dodge LE-150 234,000 318 V8 Withheld Transmission, Heads, Rear end

1993 Dodge I Ton Dually Ext Cab 228,673 Cummins 5.9 Diesel with 5 speed manual trans. Phillip Curtis Replace starter, replace altenator, rebuild transmission twice, replace clutch and transmission once. Rebuild head once Still runs as strong as ever.
1994 Dodge Voyager 228,439 3.3 Engine, Auto w/ overdrive Edward A Plageman New seals in transmission. New Shocks & Struts. New Lower Ball-Joints and Inside Tie Rod. Only complaint is rust through from inside at lower corners of doors. This is my 2nd Dodge Van. First one was a '90 Caravan that lasted 197,000 mile when engine gasket went. Transmission replaced at 90,000. No other problems, except rust through from inside. GREAT VANS!
1987 Dodge dodge caravan 227,434 3.0L 6 cyl, automatic transmission Mark E Jensen fuel pump, alternator, starter. valve guides, new plug wires, distributor. Head gaskets and transmission under warranty at 68000 miles runs like a top, mechanically very sound, some rust

Need a new front assembly bar replacement, tie-end rods replacement, rotor replacement, transfer case service, front 4-wheel drive line replacement. Continous cleaning of injectors and fuel injection cleaning. Had a Ravin muffler installed and dual exhaust system with chrome exhaust tips. Takes a while to start up/turn-over, but an overall excellent pickup truck.
1992 Dodge Dakota LE 4x4 225,000 5.2L V8 and Auto Trans Jay S. McMullan A new engine at 27,000 miles in the Fall 1992 (water in the engine), New transmission at around 150,000, 4 fuel pumps (Usually every 50,000 miles but the last one from NAPA has lasted longer), 3rd engine in the summer of 2001. Front drive gears and right A-frame member. In 2000, I did a major conversion on the truck by putting 79 Ford Bronco axles under the truck and lifted it 12 inches. 1993 Dodge Dakota 221,123 318 Larry Hicks New radiator was needed around the 190K mark. It split at the top where the plastic is crimped to the metal. Replaced the rearend wheel bearings around the 155K mark. Had a roar / vibration in it. Replaced 2 speed sensor modules on the transmission at 45K and 130K. I use Havoline 10W30 oil and change the filter when I change the oil. It takes a quart between oil changes now. It still has the factory spark plugs and has no oil leaks. Cranks quickly even on the coldest of mornings.
1992 Dodge Caravan 220,000 2.5 liter with maual transmission George McEwen a fuel pump at 6000 miles under warrantly and replaced again at 205,900 miles. no other engine work great little car but right now having emmision problems for it to pass.

I thought that was alot of miles so I prayed that if I bless other's with the use of the truck that I would be blessed with miles. God is faithful. When the Dodge had 125,000 I wondered if I should buy new tires. God has blessed me with this truck and still going strong.

Lots of the normal repairs - cv axles on both sides, fuel pump, tie rods, speed sensor. Air Conditioning went, not worth fixing at this stage. Not real good on gas mileage - lucky to get 20mpg on the highway. Now the volt meter starts normal and slowly goes to zero, probably alternator? Overall, very good vehicle, lots of room.

1978 Dodge Monaco 200,000 318 1V, 727 torqueflight Seth Allison Has less work than it should have, it even has the original belts, witch are gonna break any day now. Replaced fuel filter, someone stole my gas cap, replaced one hose, brake lines, front and back brakes, headlights, new alternator. Brake master cylinder. I noticed i am the only one of like three or four monaco owners on this site. This car is really wierd in some ways, like the original one barrel ccarburator and courderoy interior. This car is the outcome of automobile neglect, but somehow still works. Been in countless wrecks, body has more dented than straight metal. The lean burn ignition is a pain, but other than that the car runs and drives pretty well. All new brake system replaced because father put power steering fluid in with the brake fluid for some reason.

1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee 202,116 4.0L 4X4 Automatic with Overdrive Bill Boone No Major Repairs--had transfer case seals, rear transmission seal and pinion seal replaced at 196,700 due to slight seepage. Cost $233.76 Outstanding vehicle, been in shop one time (seals). I have done all maintenance and a few preventative repairs myself. I replace brake pads each 100,000 miles as a precaution. I replaced water pump, thermostat and hoses at 155,000 as a precaution. Oil changes are done when nearing 4,500 miles. I use Slic-50 each 20-25 thousand miles, I grease at oil change with Slic-50 grease. Oil consumption has not changed since new and front end alignment was last done at 34,300 miles. I had front end checked at 193,000 and was told it was not out of alignment and was tight as new. I will continue to do my part and hope to see 300,000 OR MORE.

We bought this car when it had 40000 miles on it and it has been a tough little car, it has been across the US several times and been very dependable. Hopefully I can get it going again as soon as possible.
1989 Plymouth Acclaim 272,150 4 cylinder Ann Weishaar The only thing right now is the struts and shocks on the right side. We just bought it in Ohio and drove it back to MD. It still only took one tank of gas for a nine hour drive. So far it runs like a champ, even with the shocks and struts on the right side out it still is a pretty smooth ride. It still has great gas mileage
1988 Plymouth Grand Voyager LE 271,000 3.0 L w/ 3 speed Eugene Yutzy Newer 3.0 liter motor, struts since I have owned it. Bought it with 184,000 and spent $1000 in parts to fix everything. At 214,000 the car was smoking, so dropped in a used 1993 motor. Might still have the original transmission.

Bought car with 133,000 miles and had to rebuild engine and put in 2nd transmission. Recently, put in 3rd transmission. Needs another motor; I think a wrist pin is bad which is creating a lot of noise when taking off from a low speed. Just got its first rust spot in front of passenger side rear wheel. Still no rust under rear window. Looks almost new inside and out.

1992 Plymouth Voyager SE 218,722 3lt. auto. jim dunstan Front and rear brakes, if you call that major, and exhaust from cat to tail(not including cat) This vehicle has the original motor and tranny. Could I have gotten a better deal anywhere else for $200.00 It cost me just under $300.00 to have it certified, including alignment, balljoint and right side clear reflector lens. This has got to be one of the best vehicles made by chrysler, or I just got the one that someone cared about. It is in very good condition with only minor rust spots which I am doing now. You should give the old tremclad rust paint a go, if youre low on funds like I. I also changed the orignal throttle body to the larger 52mm. More pep and quicker response. I changed the air filter sytem slightly to allow more air. Good improvement. Do I get a prise for filling this out or are we all just bragging about our great vehicle. I'm sure we all hope they will run forever.
1991 Plymouth Voyager 213,000 3.3L/Auto overdrive Mike Sewell No major repairs. I have replaced struts, shocks, alternator, fuel pump, radiator, radiator fan, front wheel bearing, front axles. 1994 Plymouth Acclaim 204,241 2.5 litre cylinder Charlie Patterson The transmission and head have been replaced and it has a new timing belt and water-pump. Other than that, only regular and normal maintenance. I bought this car with 134,000 miles and it's only let me down once and that was when the timing belt broke at 199,000 miles. I really like this car and would definately buy another with low mileage on it.
1992 Plymouth Acclaim 201,730 3.0 L. V6 3speed automatic Ron McKillip None. This car even has the original timing belt on it. I bought this car new. I have done all the routine maintenance myself. Other then the consumable items it has all its original parts.
1993 Plymouth Grand Voyager LE 201,650 3.3 Liter V6 / A-604 Chris Up until last week the only major repairs have been with the Air Conditioning and the rear heat (line leak) This week the transmission started to whine, slip, and go into limp mode This car looks, runs, and rides as good as new, right down to the leather interior. It's had cooling system problems (and still does), but at 180K still had enough faith in it to drive it from Minneapolis to Las Vegas and back. Modest but versatile, great in the snow and on the freeway. Body is still good, I hope it makes it another 200K!

1976 Dodge B200 Sportsman 364235I rebuilt the transmission and replaced the U joints 4 years ago. Replaced the radiator and had to have a custom grill welded in just after Thanksgiving of 2000 after hitting a deer while making the trip across Nebraska for the holiday. Demolished the plastic grill, punctured the radiator and turned a deer literally into ground meat. Since then only needed the usual upkeep, brakes, minor gaskets, one speedometer cable. 318ci Torque Flite 727(Auto)I'm the third owner of this van. It was origionally used by the Missouri National Guard as a transport vehicle, after which a former employer of mine purchased it at a surplus auction and used it for his cleaning business. When his business expanded he bought 2 newer vans and this one sat for about a year on his farm until I made an offer to buy it. I currently use this van mainly to drive to and from work, the ocassional 300 mile trip to visit family and as I am an amateur radio operator also use it to operate mobile and for storm spotting considering it already had the places to mount antennas and my weather equipment. I seem to catch some guff from one of my friends who is a former National Guard motorpool mechanic about restoring it to it's former glory considering he has a collection of the stickers they used to mark this particular van and knows how to match the shade of OD green it's painted. For a van that has seen a lot of miles i'm impressed that even on the coldest days it still fires off as if it were new. One of these days i'll have to post pics of it on my web page. www.qsl.net/w0avmScott Ericson

1991 Dodge Caravan Se206450Well maintained and required only minor repair between 0-175,000 miles. Within that time, it needed 3 new exhaust tailpipes and resonator, 2 mufflers (last model before stainless steal exhaust). Of course it needed new struts twice, brake pads, shoes, 2 batteries and tires, cam timing belt every 60k miles. At 120k miles it started to smoke from the exhaust, got progressively worse. At 150k miles the paint began to peel and about 170k miles I found the advice about the valve guide seals on this site and did the repair, no more smoke. At about 175k miles, in the middle of extremely cold winter, things began to fail one after another, starter motor, fuel pump, battery, the suspension was getting twitchy and unstable. Spent the spring and summer getting it in shape, another set of struts/shocks, plus tie-rods and ball joints, new tires. New pads/shoes, plus new rotors and rebuilt the Master Cylinder and front calipers on my own for good measure. Replaced the cam timing belt and the water pump for good measure. Had a leaky seal for the tubes running from the water pump to the radiator, replaced that, but after I replaced a perfectly good radiator with my mis-diagnosis. - 179k had A/C fail, mis-diagnosised it as a bad compressor, spent a lot with rebuilt compressor and converting to R-134a, only to find it was a bad relay. The compressor was siezing from the high pressure build-up, which that sudden stoppage on the drive pulley at the end of the crank may have set me up for the final problem I had with the Van. It passed Maryland emissions and state inspection at 180k miles with flying colors. - At 206,427 miles, the harmonic balancer / accessory drive pulley on the end of the crank shaft had the key sheer and it began to spin independent of the crankshaft. End result, before it gave any symptoms at all, the end of the crankshaft and the balancer was ground all away and was unrepairable. A new crank was needed, you do the math, it was time to finally retire the old girl and I donated the car to Melwood. I did have to remove all the belts and balancer with my tools in the parking lot of my work, I started the car and drove it home on battery power (3.0L has the water pump driven off the cam timing belt), where it sits awaiting Melwood to come pick it up.3.0L / 3spd Automatic(Auto)Well maintained and ran great up to 175k miles, other than some exhaust smoke, but an extremely cold winter brought about several failures, some parts and work later it was running great up to 206,427 miles. Used hard during its life. Towed a car with it all the way across country twice, and even towed my '69 Charger with it up the east coast (the Charger ways more than the mini-van). Lots of city/town driving, pulled seats out many times to haul large things inside. Of course, its a early 90's Chrysler so the paint started peeling half-way through its life. - I can't complain, its been a good van, maybe I would have been smarter and replaced it when trouble began arising at 175k miles. But despite having some problems near the end of its life, it never left me stranded except for that last breakdown.Rick Anderson

I did most of th work myself at my Dad's shop (he is a mechanic retired). I love this van I entent to drive it till the wheels fall off or wont meet emissions, which ever come first. Everything except the glove box door and that is dented360 CID engine and 727 transmission (Auto)It never gets an easy mile. I rebuild engine and trans every 100,000 miles. It has been all over Baja and to Alaska. In fact like those XXXX commercials I took a picture at 500,000 that was on the Alaskan Highway just before turning onto the very thrilling Cassair Highway. After 1/2 million miles strange things can happen like wear produces a hole in the dipstick tube. I bought this vehicle new and I will attempt to eclipse the 1.5 million miles world record. ... 1974 Dodge D-300 Custom chassis-cab538654None, that it needed. 2 voluntary motor swaps. Transmission and rear end have NEVER been into.318 CI/NP435 4-spd/Dana 60(5.13 open gear) (Manual)Original engine(318/2bbl) was running excellent at 312,000 miles-but I pulled it in favor of a "fresher" engine I had picked up for a $50 bill. That engine was a 318/2bbl from a 4-door dodge, '70 model and it showed 82K on it when I set it in the truck. That engine was still running great(showed 65 lbs warm idle oil pressure, and would peg 90 lbs pulling a load!!), but I pulled it out to put in a fuel-injected 318 in it form a '90 model wreck I was given. the TBI motor showed 137,000 when I put it in the truck(showing 503,000 miles) and it still runs excellent. It cranks perfect, hot or cold, has all kind of pulling power, and shows 68 lbs of warm idle oil pressure @ 450 rpms. I use the truck everyday, it has a 11' dumping flatbed on it. I use it on the farm and I VERY regularly load it with 8,000 lbs of hay on the bed, and another 16,000-20,000 on the trailer. This truck works day in and day out and never misses a beat. It's been down for maintenance 2 days in the last 9 years-I rebuilt the front suspension and put the TBI motor in it in those 2 days. Will

1982 Dodge Ramcharger320000Broke a spring in the front once. So I replaced the springs and rebuilt most of the front end as a precaution. Problem solved. I did voluntarily rebuilt the engine, but it was not due to a mechanical problems... Although it is very enjoyable to have it run like new now. It was just a precaution I took after my baby was born. I did body work to it, replaced various parts over the years: radiator, shocks, starter, waterpump, battery, tires etc... Things that normally wear out.318, not sure which transmission (Auto)Although I listed the repairs that have accumulated over the years. The reason I made those repairs was because I knew for sure from experience that the truck was worth it. 1989 Dodge Omni3100001. At around 100,000 miles I opened the valve cover and removed large waxy chunks of solidified oil, perhaps a result of neglecting to change it for about 50,000 miles when I commuted 90 miles to work. 2. I removed all the little bits of metal that were blocking the oil intake screen, twice, at about 150,000 miles. 3. I replaced all the wheel bearings around 1998, when I overloaded the car with hundreds of newspapers and drove around throwing them out the window for extra money. 4. I replaced the timing belt after it began loosing its teeth at about 250,000 miles. 5. I replaced the freeze plugs when they began to corrode through and ooze antifreeze in the summer of 1999. (I had never changed the coolant.) 6. I had another fuel tank installed at around 275,000 miles because the old one rusted through. 7. Most of the paint peeled off the roof, so I sanded it down to bare metal and repainted it with rustoleum in 2000. (White is not hard to match adequately.) 8. I replaced a the left halfshaft which had begun to make noises. 9. I think the fuel injector has gone bad. It won't start. The resistance is about 1.8 ohms.2.2L TBI (Auto)This has been a very dependable car, and I have been able to fix almost all the problems myself.Joseph C. Konczal

1987 Dodge Ramcharger 150LE 4WD200230Original engine was replaced before current owner(me)got the truck in 1992. I unknowning bought the truck with a "car boneyard"318 engine in it. After purchasing the truck in 1992 I found out the motormounts were broken and the oil pan that came on the car motor was mounted backwards for being on the truck and was riding on the frame cross-memberwhich made the pan leak, and it had to be replaced. It also was missing the dipstick and had to have the Carburator rebuilt. In 1998 I had a Jasper remanufactured engine(318 c.i.) put in the truck. Recently the A/C unit was destroyed by "all tune & lube" shop in Vienna which subsequently has closed and moved to Sterling, VA. The Unit was climbed onduring routine repairs in the shop and after being returned to me with broken compressor mounts, it had to be removed from truck and the alternator belts had to be re-routed.Jasper remanufactured 318 and 727A Automatic (Auto)This truck eats steering couplers and u-joints!John R Crump, Jr.
1986 Dodge 600200073The only major repairs on this car have been a new radiator, and a new head. The body is in perfect condition with no rust what so ever. Chrysler cordoba 255,095 new 7 3/4 spider gears 225/6 904 great car hard to find parts
Chrysler Intrepid 236,740 Transmission changed at 280,000 kms. Engine changed at 310,000 kms. The rest just routine maintance. Engine: 3.5 Litre, 24 valve. Transmission: 42LE electronic 4 speed automatic. This car is used as a taxi. The engine was repairable when replaced (due to one spun bearing), but with the high mileage and the fact the car is a taxi, I figured I was farther ahead replacing the engine, and keeping the old one for parts.

Plymouth Duster 342,226 all origianal except rings, pistons, engine bearings and the usual such as ball joints, radiator, alterantor brushes, starter brushes, batteries, tires, shockes etc. all original on feather duster: slant 225 - 6 cyl. / floor 3 speed with overdrive and tall rear end (2.98/1) rings at 180, 000 but all valves are origianl and even the exhaust pipe (aluminized stainless) is original This car has never been in a professional repair shop for anything: all repairs by owner. If anyone would like to restore this car they may have it (free) if they call me quick.
Plymouth Sundance 300,000 Transmission rebuilt at 70,000 under warrenty due to oil leak. Two AC Compressors. Needs another and the condenser. Up on jackstands now for rear main seal. Replaced timing belt 3 times. Replaced cam and crank oil seal at 250,000. Plymouth Duster 273,542 No real repairs except rear tires. 323(318 .30over)/904 Floor shifter, rebuilt engine,street/strip car, run mid 12's @ 3000 corr. alt, sleeper:), loud with headers open.
Plymouth Grand Voyager 256,017 trans replaced 4 times,2 new axles, struts, water pump, alternator, dual air compressor V6 3.3 Bought used 124,000 to replace our original bought new 1991 Voyager that was totaled at 158,000. Other than tranny-which Chrysler can't seem to fix it's a great vehicle.
Plymouth Voyager 241,650 Transmission at about 90,000 miles. Nothing major since 3.3 liter with OD
Plymouth gran fury 240,810 replaced transmission with a 1972, 727 20,000 miles ago 318 lean burn. 1972 a727 uses no oil,serviced every 2000 miles since new,still retain,s 24.3 mpg on open road @68 mph cruise control. show,s no sign,s of deteroation,has same suspension part,s except 2 shock replacement,s
Plymouth Voyager 231,005 I replaced the clutch and starter 2.5L 4 cyl. (non-turbo), 5 speed manual transmission Great car. Easy to work on. I liked it so much, I found and bought another one with the same engine/transmission.
Plymouth voyager van awd 230,520 new chry.trans. at 175000 km. 3.3 used castrol 5w30 only! and still uses no oil in 5000km.between changes
Plymouth Reliant K wagon 226,000 fuel pump water pump front axles 2 radiators since I got it in 96 with 130k 2.5 with 3speed auto got a red light, codes say map sensor, she won't go quick but she goes, just passed smog inspection, so I guess I have 2 years before I get it fixxed!
Plymouth Acclaim LX 222,222 New transmision installed at 165,000 miles. Alternator at 170k, bent transmission cable broke at 167k, (The first time this car left me stranded, I blame the dealer who did the tranny for this) Started smoking at 160k after extended idling, finaly replaced valve guides and ox. sens. at 200,000 miles. Fuel pump quit suddenly at Jack in the box drive thru, (Jack had to help push me thru the line!) That was at 210,000. I'm on the 3rd ignition switch, they last 4-5 yrs each. All new motor mounts at 120k, new sway bar bushings at 160k, needs front motor mount again. New half shafts installed at 195k, boots hadn't ever cracked so was from wear. Freon leaked out last year, havent fixed yet. Radiator fan replaced at 205,000. Front calipers last about 50-70k miles then start to stick, car came with brakes for 14 wheels, but LX's have 15 (Dunces!) That makes replacing the pads an adventure. Oh yeah, it's been so long now I almost forgot! The power steering sprung a leak at 45k miles, the high pressure hose burst at 75k and the entire rack got replaced at 90k, no problems since. Oil pressure sender failed at 30k, temperature sender failed last summer. Exhaust/muffler are about rusted through now, when it gets loud I'll replace it. 4spd auto, Mitsubishi 3.0 V6 I had always owned German cars before I bought Sylvester, I maintained this car just like I would have if it was a Mercedes Benz. It still shines like a new car, everywhere except the wheels which are starting to loose the clearcoat. Interior hardly shows any wear, I clean it once a year and it still glistens when it clean, which isn't often because I have dogs. Carpet getting thin in places though, and the headliner is just now begining to get some sags. It has been the most reliable car I've ever owned. If you don't count the broken shift cable, which was bent by the dealer, the car went almost 9 years without leaving me stranded. I am kind of a perfectionist though and the short life span of many of the parts is anoying. Aside from the chintzy valve guides the engine is great. It's still just as quick as when it was new, so I assume it has good compression. I took a pic of the odometer at 222,222.22, which happened on I-8 while traveling at 80 mph.
Plymouth Plymouth Grand Voyager 220,580 Transmission, ECM, 3.3 litre, 4 speed overdrive This was a replacement vehicle for my 1992 Dodge Grand Caravan which had had no major work and was just over 300,000 kms when it was stolen and burned last spring. When I purchased the Plymouth in May it had 250,000 kms on it. I use it for courier work and put on between 500 and 600 kms every day.
Plymouth voyager 220,015 need to replace torque converter (havent done it yet) 318, 727 toqueflite-4 speed I love my van. Just painted it a couple months ago, and have redone most of the interior. I bought it stripped bare from a carpet layer, and have been junk yard hopping ever since.
Plymouth Acclaim 219,965 New heads V6 4speed automatic Burned about a quart of oil every 1K miles. Only left me sit once, when the fuel pump went out. Was going to buy a new car then decided to drive it into the ground since it ran like a top. Totaled it the next day in a snowstorm. Very unhappy
Plymouth Reliant 214,000 2 Head Gaskets and on it's way for another. 2 Timing Belts A/C Broke at 85,000 miles 1 Safety Collison Chip 1 Fuel Pump 2.5L w/ 3 speed Never put Aluminum heads on a 4 banger unless you are prepared for many head gaskets.
Plymouth Voyager 213,062 Head gaskets (2)@ 210,000 & 100k ,computer brain (1)@ 205,000 miles, new pistons @ 69,999 miles 4 cyl. 2.5 Bought at 12K miles, does not leak or burn oil. Have done regular fluid changes & maint. Exellent van!
Plymouth horizon 212,376 New clutch at 200456 (through out bearing was shot, clutch was ok). New hood and passenger side clip due to my brother's poor driving skills. 2.2 liter engine with 5 speed manual trans This car is a real peach. I like it so much that we have two!
Plymouth Gold Duster 208,000 Rebuild engine, running good on 4.5 cylinders, was a slant 6. Needs left rear quarter panel skin, misc rust. 3 speed on floor currently until 4 speed swap
Plymouth Feather Duster 201,800 New engine @ 174,000. Two transmission rebuilds. A junkyard rearend installed @ 190,500. 225 Slant 6, 1BBL, Aluminum A-833 Overdrive Current engine has 100,000 mi. on it.
Plymouth Voyager 201,645 Engine overhaul trans lost 5th gear ao it was replaced. 2.2 with 5 speed wish I'd have bought something else.
Plymouth Grand Voyager LE 201,000 Transmission, radiator, struts 3.3 Still runs great.
