Privacy Policy

Email Specifics

E-mail privacy policy. Allpar will generally only send you an email if:

  1. You register for the forums. In this case you will get an email asking you to verify your identity. If someone else is entering your email address repeatedly, please contact us and we will blacklist your email address to stop this. (It has never, to our knowledge, happened.) If you do verify your identity, you may be notified of certain events by email, unless you opt out using the forum settings. Note: removal instructions are provided with each message.
  2. You join the 200,000 Mile Club. In this case you will get an automated email when you join, and another when you are accepted (the same confirmations appear when you make changes). Again, if someone else is using your email to annoy you, write to us and we will do something to block that. Again, this has never happened, as far as we know.
  3. You join our mailing list. This is an opt-in list with verification. You will get one verification email, and if you follow the instructions, you will be on the list. Removal instructions are sent with each email. If you contact us via other means, we will remove you from the list manually, on request.
  4. You write to us. If you contact us via a form or email, we will usually write back. Sometimes we do not get emails for whatever reason. In that case, please try again. We may write back to ask for clarification or to tell you that we have finally posted your contributions.

Your email address will never be sold by Allpar to anyone.

You may get spam with an allpar.com return address from time to time which is not sent by us. Spammers often supply someone else's email address or name on their mailings to avoid suspicion and get you to open their rubbish. If you are unsure, examine the full headers (try spamcop.net or another service for details).
