2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 Specifications and Capacities

SRT8 enginesThe 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 runs from 0-60 mph in 4.8 seconds, screams from 0-100-0 mph in the mid-16 second range, covers the quarter mile in the mid-13 second range, has a top speed of 160 mph, and brakes from 60-0 mph in 116 feet.

The engine has 16 pushrod-operated overhead valves, with sodium-filled exhaust valves and hollow stem intake valves; they are actuated by 16 conventional hydraulic lifters, all with roller tips. The fuel injection is sequential (each cylinder is uniquely controlled) and returnless (there is no return feed for excess fuel), and the engine has a Fuel Saver (cylinder cutoff) mode. The engine itself has a deep-skirt cast-iron block with cross-bolted main bearing caps, topped by aluminum alloy heads with “hemispherical style” combustion chambers.
