More auto show fun
We went to another show yesterday, this one at the Trenton Elks.

Saw quite a few interesting cars, but first I’d like to harken back to the last show blog I posted; there was a Roadrunner there that I got interior, motor, and detail shots of but neglected to get a full exterior shot! Well, that car was here, so without further ado:

There it is. Now, to move on:
There were some nice oldies there, like this 48 Dodge:

and 41 Plymouth

Not a Mopar, but I dig this view. I can imagine it got quite hot in there though.

the instrument panel looks like it was from a 50s movie spacecraft!

This blue was just too gorgeous to omit:

Two Satellite shots
As Dodge prepares to bring the name back, here’s a classic Challenger:

Moving across the ocean, an Alfa:

Remember when CB radios could be had from the factory?
Remember CB radios? :)

Coming near the end, saving something unusual and something beautiful for the last…
The unusual is a 1962 Hillman Minx:

And lastly, we step out of Mopar and into Pontiac for this gasp-inducing tail end:

Look at those Bullet taillamps! Not to mention the tire cover. The paint sparkled like you wouldn’t believe.

We’ll end with a close up of those taillamps; the detail is just awesome. They must look really nice all lit up.
Hope to catch another show before the season ends…

HI,
Nice pictures ! The Hillman is fairly rare, as no convertibles came from the factory as far as I know. They were all aftermarket conversions, such the Crayford conversions done to European Fords of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.
What’s the”space craft” car - the one with the fantastic interior ?
Mike
That’s either a Ford Skyliner or the Mercury equivilant; I don’t recall which. I read up on ‘em a little and indeed it was hot in there; they had a clip on plastic cover as a shade but apparently it didn’t work all that well.
That Hillman was a neat little car; it was a late arrival to the show too.
Nice pictures. You can certainly see the influence of that 37 Ford on the PT. WE have a show going on in New Milford (Bergen County) on September 30. You are certainly welcome with your PT as our show is open to all cars old and new. We have “decade awards” so you only compete against cars that are from the same era as yours.
As it turns out, we’ve a craft show that day :(
