After 23 years of driving trucks, I wanted something with the ride height, headroom, ease of handling, lockable storage (that wasn't available in the trucks), price really wasn't a factor. I don't need a 7 passenger van, in fact my centre seat has been removed for the last 5 years - the back seat is as far forward on it's rails, so I have storage & hauling room. And if I could find used centre buckets, I'd deep six the other 2 seats to storage. My ideal replacement vehicle for my Dakota was spec'd as follows to Chrysler - A Club Cab on a Shortbox Chassis with the box from the Quad Cab (of course, more ponies & a 5 speed manual) - that met all my requirements. Also one more comment - what is up with Chrysler's engine availability for the minivan. The Honda Van is a 244/240 3.5l V6, Toyota 266/245 3.5l V6. Short wheelbase.
