They should start selling this as a bailout for mainstreet, if wallstreet can get one, why not mainstreet? Overall, I'm not too worried about detroit, obama and a democratic congress won't let them fail and I think they'll make it through feb if nothing is done now. I'm more worried that GM/Chrysler will use the funds to merge and allpar has to become gmpar or whatever...

I know they will get the assitance they need. Nardelli is going to fly on a regular jet with normal people, or drive to DC. I hope he drives the prototype Chrysler Town&Country EV, he ask all the members of congress and such to come check out the vehicle. he needs to lay out what they have in the pipeline. Like their new "Re-Birth" engines, yes Pheonix means "Re-birth" in Greek mythology. I think that has some signafigance. He needs to lay out what exactly theis "product rennasaunce" is gonna be. What can we expect? A small Neonesque Dodge? An UBER Luxo Chrysler? The Jeep pickup? A big Chrysler crossoveresque vehicle to replace the Pacifica/Aspen? How about a new Sebring/Avenger and updated Journey? And he needs to lay out more details of the Pheonix v6's. I have heard that 3.6 is the biggest with 280hp and 28mpg in the Caravan? I don't know for sure.
And where is Lee Iacocca? If his name stands true "I Am Chairman of Chrysler Corp Always" he is helping out Nardelli Press and LaSorda.

I don't think GM cutting Saturn, Saab, Pontiac, and Hummer is gonna do it. What is the need for GMC then?

GM CAN survive on Caddiliac as the uber luxo, Chevy as the average cars, and GMC as their trucks and SUVS. Me personally, I would NEVER buy a car from GM unless the back then like Chrysler. I think GM has the Daewoo curse. Daewoo's CEO had a lot of arrogance, he ignored the asain financial crisis of the mid 90's just like Wagoneer and the rest of GM ignored all of the signs of what just happened. Ford and Chrysler adjusted before the bubble burst like Hyundai/Kia did then.

A LOAN worked for Chrysler in the 80's, they came back stronger then ever, had an uber huge product rennasaunce became the most valuable automaker in the world, than an arrogant, incompident jackass sold them to the Germans. IF Chrysler never went through Daimler, they wouldn't be in this mess. These are just my 2 cents.

Economy aside look where the companies have come in the last 2 years. Chrysler and Dodge's websites used to be identical clones of eachother. Now they both have been changed to better represent the line-up of cars for which they represent. Chrysler being the more sophisticated, luxurious, and business type of vehicle. Dodge being the more BOLD, powerful, in your face brand of vehicles. In the last 2 years all 3 comanies have dug deep down and found their own roots and seperated themselves from eachother. Quality has increased, the thought processes going into a vehicles function and role in the market have been analyzed and altered. All in all I believer that Chrysler LLC, in a better economy, would be grabbing more market share every quarter.
Just my opinion

I surely hope so Dave!!!!

I think a well run Chrysler, sticking true to the way it used to do things when Walter P. and the three musketeers set up the divisions would do amazingly well in these tough times. A new low priced quality driven Plymouth line up of compacts and sub sompacts, Dodge trucks and more enthusiast oriented products, and Chrysler doing high quality mid and full size cars with great features that lead the industry....And Jeep producing Jeeps!
