Thought I would post this here. Started making a clanking sound replaced the belt and the weird thing is the noise is louder with the a/c off and when you turn the a/c on the noise gets quieter. The 3 things that are driven by this belt is the a/c, power steering and idler pulley. It could either be the a/c clutch or the power steering pump. When I had the belt off checked all 3 things and couldn't find any play in any of the pulleys.

When you turn on your ac the clutch grabs onto the hub. If it is quieter when it is turned on then it is likely your ac clutch

The A/C clutch pulley freewheels when the A/C is off and then turns with the hub (at the same speed) when the A/C is engaged.
You could remove the belt and with the engine off, spin each pulley by hand and listen for a noise.
