Hi all. Today I purchased a 1988 dodge aries station wagon. It is a 2.5l auto. It is in fairly decent shape for the year. Picking it up tomorrow. It is gonna be my boy and dogs fishing mobile. Hopefully the St. Bernard will fit. Been a long time since I have had a car, but my truck needs to get some rest.

You should post in the K-car forum, this is for EEKs.

I looked for aries/reliant page and figured eek meant every variation of k car.

Got the car home. Put about 75 miles on it. St bernard loves it, it is just big enough. Haven't taken the boy in it yet, til I make sure everything is good. I figured the dog could help tow if it broke down, but the car runs great.

Only issues I see so far is holes in the floor that need, patched, a shoddy brake line repair, and the previous owner put straight water in the radiator.

Other than that, is there anything I should be looking for.

I had a 2.2 aries coupe as a first car, and this brings back good memories of a simpler time.

    Nice score!!
I still have an old factory propane powered K car wagon.
Post some pics if you get a chance.

    Thanks

These were neat little wagons, and I wish the American public liked cars like this so we could still buy them.

The simplest solution is to upload the photos to a free site (I use photobucket) then copy the img link for the picture and paste it in your post here.

Haven't had a chance to get pics up, but the car is running great. In 115 miles of mixed driving got 27 mpg and in 104 miles of mostly back mountain roads got 22 mpg. Very happy with that.
Did notice on the way home from work in the rain the holes in the floor are worse than originally thought. Stained the carpet pretty good.
Flushed the cooling system, but will have to do again.
The dog loves it. Haven't got the boy in yet for a ride.

Looking to buy a four door 2.2l auto at the end of the week. Hope it runs as good.

    1987 Plymouth Reliant LE.jpg
Bought this new Plymouth Reliant SE in 1987. Eventually gave to youngest son in college and he eventually traded it in for a new 1998 Dodge Avenger. Had around 160, 000 miles when he got rid of it. Awesome car............great mileage............no problems at all with engine or trans. I absolutely loved this car. Had burgundy interior and a 2.2L engine.

Here is the wagon. It was missing 2 hubcaps so I bought it new ones.

So far she has been running great. Got to get tires and fix some holes in the floor and also the passenger windshield wiper stopped moving.

Aries wouldn't start the other day. Knew it couldn't be something serious. Poured about a cap full of gas in her and she fired right up.

Going to Carlisle here next month. Hope to find a taillight for the sw, a center cap for the van and truck, and maybe some other simple things.

I love driving this car, need to get the holes patched in the floor, some tires, fix the wiper bushings and get this thing inspected. If it was I think I would be taking it to Carlisle, but think the truck is taking me as I may bring home some things.

Ha! I'm not the only one with a dogs car. Mine was a 2007 Magnum, but I sold it.
I need to find another car to haul them in.

Yeah. He rides in our trucks and my van, but he isn't always "clean". When he sees me grab the car keys and I head out the door he becomes like a kid at Christmas. He knows no matter how mucked up he is,he can just jump in the back and go along cause it is his car lol
