Throwing this out to whoever has the stop start. I have expressed for some time doubts in its benefits. I drive with mine on all the time, my wife turns it off. I approach it as an experiment observing not only its fuel savings but how smooth it operates. It's not smooth, on par with the transmission. Acknowledging my wife's time in the car with it off, i'm convinced fuel saving is nil or worse. I still however am fascinated by it, especially stopped in busy intersections making left hand turns. Tying into the TH vs TH thread i'll add, i wonder why a THawk needs stop start anyway. Lastly my dash is now lit up with (A!) message, STOP/START is not working and requires service. I know some, myself included, wondered if the added engineering/mechanicals would be positively countered by fuel savings. At 23,000km/14,000miles i'm not seeing it. To bad, Cherokee has been a flawless vehicle thus far. Off to a FCA dealer experience i go.
