The steel industry in the US is getting choked badly by foreign government sponsored imports. There is plenty of steel capacity in the US and prices are will more than likely not increase like the media is portraying.

For those that do not know, the base price of steel is based on scrap price because the majority of “new” steel made in the US is recycled. There are only a handful of blast furnaces operating in the US compared to 50 years ago.

    Two words...Carbon Fiber!

Now having been looking at 1-2 yr old 300's and Challengers...its amazing how much better resale is on a Challenger than a 300. Especially if the Challenger has the 6.4L.

@Mike V. and @redriderbob - given what we're hearing about engine options and updates for Challenger/Charger between now and 2020, is there any word on these updates transferring to 300? I didn't figure we would see the 426 (or even a 392) but doesn't hurt to ask about what IS coming....

Thanks - was hoping that some of the electrification might be tested on the 300 since the engine updates were on the Dodge. Particularly the mild hybrid system from the RAM 1500 DTs, but I also know that required a pretty extensive electrical system update.

It also looks like the e-tq system needs a tall hood to clear it...not sure how a 300 would look with a big demon like scoop on it.

A week ago I bought a 2017 300C with 19.6K miles for almost exactly half of the price on the original window sticker. While I'm really happy about the deal I got on the most luxurious vehicle I've ever owned, this makes me wonder how they can continue to sell new 300's at all - even with $6K on the hood.

Hopefully a well slanted eTorque I6 wouldn’t come with that packaging problem.

With the I6 it wouldn’t have to sit n top though. It could be side mounted like the T4.

There's a lot of what-if's, we'll see when we see, I suppose. Though I thought the incoming 6 was a straight six not a slant six?

Like you say, a lot of ifs and maybes. Some insiders have suggested that the 6 will be slanted after all, and it would make sense if vertical height is a concern. OTOH hoods seem to be getting taller whether due to the suv craze or crash standards.
I’m not saying these things will happen, that’s why I prefaced my original comment with hope. With a clean sheet design, I would expect them to make bsg packaging a least a tier 2 consideration. These are smart guys—I’m sure they’ve got a handle on it—it’s just fun to speculate as this thing works it’s way through design/tooling.

Has anyone found a video of the 300 with the Scat Pack stage kits? I've searched youtube, but haven't found much. I'm not really in the market for a car, but I'd be tempted to pick up a lightly used 300 like Somber and get stages 1-3 installed. With that, it would be around 450hp. Seems like that would be a blast to drive while also maintaining the more mature look some people prefer.

Question is any of these colors being considered for the 300, I know alot of times exotic colors are dodge only in alot of cases not all but alot but the black eye and sinamon is fire . I know the 300 was offered in destroyer Grey but never any srt colors like mango or such. I hope they let some colors trickle down.

I think the only new color coming for the 300 is Toe Tag.
