The 2018 Compass MP is launching early, on June 26th.

2017 Compass ordering is closed. 2018MY ordering opens later today or Tomorrow 5/10.

Don't have a list of changes, not expecting many differences.

Oh if they add adaptive cruise I'm SO going to kick myself where it counts....

Well, maybe not, I do like my Cherokee. :)

    1. Good.
    2. I still don't get why they left that off. And I'm going to keep repeating that until they add it. :)

Because they're going to need something other than the v6 and styling to differentiate Cherokee

Size and price. Adaptive cruise is as much a safety feature as it is convenience. They should add it as soon as possible instead of leaving off safety features to differentiate from the Cherokee.

Standing on a lot with a Cherokee across the aisle from a compass last night, they look close in size. That's what the average consumer is going to see. That and the sticker. It's only a safety feature if you're driving distracted.

Most people do drive distracted! I think they'll end up making the Cherokee bigger when the new model (not refresh) comes out to differentiate from the Compass.

Wait, they do NOT have adaptive cruise on the Compass? Even with the front sensor?

Yes, we have been over this. The sensor is there, but they did not offer it as an option on any trim level.

It could be something they are waiting on for the Overland trim, when that debuts in the refresh with the Hurricane engine.

...and that the Compass is 1000% better looking (as the general consensus seems to be).

Right, only Forward Collision Warning. Which is why it isn't a cost issue to add it since the sensor setup is already there. Seems like they're just restricting features from the Compass.

The styling, especially the rear, is Land Rover Evoque.

It is a bit funny......the last Compass was Grand Cherokee front with a hideous rear........the new Compass is a better Grand Cherokee front with an awesome rear.

Adaptive cruise control is about the type of cruise control I can use on most of the roads I travel. Didn't seem like the highways were so crowded even 15 years ago.

My new (to me) 2008 Grand Cherokee Overland does not have adaptive cruise and it is taking me some adjustment since my 300C AWD has it.

It's almost dangerous to get in a vehicle without it after you're already used to it.

I wouldn't wish to be a passenger of a driver that relies on it!

Have you had ACC in one of your vehicles then tried to get in a vehicle without it and drive? It's alarming when the car doesn't slow down by itself. Doesn't mean you're not paying attention.

The key is to pay attention and to never fall into complacency.......a good lesson for anytime we drive!
