2018 will be a big year for the Dodge Challenger...

We all have been talking about the SRT Demon, but there will be a SRT HELLCAT widebody option offered for 2018.

New: 2018 Challenger SRT Hellcat Wide Body (optional package)

    6.2L Supercharged engine
    8-speed auto transmission w/paddle shifters / or 6-speed manual
    Illuminated Air-Catcher Headlamps
    New: Wide Body competition suspension
    New: 305/35ZR20 A/S Performance Tires
    New: 20X11.0" Forged aluminum wheels

This vehicle unlike the SRT Demon will be offered with both 6-speed manual and 8-speed automatic transmissions. This vehicle unlike the SRT Demon will not have a line lock feature, nor will it have any of the SRT Demon's Drag Mode or Race Fuel settings. The SRT HELLCAT widebody will have 20" rims compared to the 18" rims on SRT Demon. SRT HELLCAT widebody will also have tires rated at 186mph speed rating, compared to the drag ready tires on the SRT Demon which will rated at 168mph.

SRT HELLCAT widebody will NOT get any of the SRT Demon engine upgrades as well. Quarter mile times should be a .2 of a second faster than the SRT HELLCAT on its 305/35ZR20 A/S Performance radials. It will also have a slightly faster 0-60mph than the Challenger SRT HELLCAT because it will be able to the put the 707 horsepower better to the ground.

Awesome, more hot wheel cars for me and the boy to collect. I am so excited for all these wonderful products from Dodge.

Disclaimer: bank account is not large enough to enjoy the actual product...but there is Chrysler @ Carlisle which allows me to for 12 bucks.

Not gonna lie, way more excited for the widebody Hellcat now than the Demon

Especially if the widebody car is setup for autocross/road course type suspension

Wait, it's getting the twin intake but not getting a little bump in HP?

Or maybe not an "official" bump in hp?

Or they could just bump it up to what its really making... lol.

The Hellcats have been underrated all along. The numbers are a worst case scenario type of thing.

Indeed. I remember the first few dynos that came out. Absurdly underrated.

Hasn't that always been the Mopar way? I've always heard the original 426 Hemi's were well underrated by the factory.

Yes, it has been a recurring theme. The 340's were underrated as well.

I hope it is okay ask these questions without causing anyone any issues, but the list of things going on has me a little confused...... seeking clarification please. So the future Hellcats will have engine upgrades? What for example? And I keep hearing the current Hellcat is under-rated..... what is the 2016 TRUE rating at the engine and rear wheels for example? The 2018 Hellcat will have @0's WITH the widebody? I suppose this last question's answer revolves around the Demon being more track(dragstrip) oriented and the Hellcat more of a balanced vehicle??
Just wish to be more educated if okay to ask.
