Same here, I have a 2011 Crew Cab with the Hemi and 3.92 rear end, and would love a healthy boost to the power. Drove an F-150 Ecoboost for a few weeks on a work trip and enjoyed the extra pep (or atleast perceived pep) it had. I also drove a Ram with the 8 speed and what i can only guess was the 3.21's and the ecoboost was still just a smidgen better in my experience with it.

The 8 speed is real nice. 3.92's are a big difference from what people tell me. Unfortunately all my local dealers don't put in 3.92 gear ratios for most of the orders. Also, I'm not looking for a damn overhaul of the engine, I really only want a number that starts with 4, lol. They had 10 years to update the engine and I hope they worked on their best seller to make it better.

This is one of the reasons I'm most likely going to order my DT, it's the same story in my neck of the woods. I would like a Delmonico Red Lonestar CC 4x4 with 3.92's, cloth bucket seats with the center console and towing mirrors. It's some what tricky to find all those things lumped together so a factory order it shall probably be.

And you'll get a big discount if you order from build and price. Or at least the northeast does.

Build&Price is a glorified search engine for what's already in stock, iirc.

If it's lighter than the outgoing model, and the Hemi finally gets over 400 horses, it will be a strong contender.

If it's still Porky Pig on the scales and has the miserable choice of a 10 year old V8 or an expensive finicky diesel or a low-torque V6...then I hope they're happy being #3.

If it sheds a decent amount of weight to where there's MPG number increases then I think it will be a contender. Also, I read an article way back on this site that major changes seem to have been abandoned. I'm not looking for a complete overhaul, just a noticeable boost in HP and torque something to get over the 400. I'll be happy/shocked if it's over 410. The pentastar and the diesel will get boosts, that's confirmed.

It's amazing how well the DS competes to this day against Ford and GM, given that they both have had a new model and a refresh in the time that the DS has been around. It would be fool hearty to think that there hasn't been an extensive effort for weight savings, which should give the DT an edge. Fingers crossed the power train is stepped up too.

The Hemi has to be over 400hp. It wouldn't make any sense if it wasn't... a decade of the same specs on a powertrain doesn't make sense in the first place.

    ?

We're at 395HP and a literal decade old model is getting its overdue remodel. My thoughts is the remodel that was 10 years in the making must be "best in class" everything on day one.

Especially with the rumored smaller displacement engines and the EcoDiesel closing in. The Hemi is going to need something to stand out.

When's the twin turbo v6 coming? Along with the plug in hybrid? 2022? The ecodiesel with the new jeep being unveiled basically gave away the next gen truck will have those specs (which is pretty damn good). The pentastar I've read will get direct injection boosting giving it a good update. But they've been quite about their best seller. Remember the 2008 model was rated at 345. And then in 2009 with the DS it was 390. Please don't let your best seller go under the table!

I think I saw that the new inline-6 engines are coming around 2020 but I could be wrong. At that point it might just be best to drop in the 6.4.

    I couldn't agree more.
I just don't see it happening, hope i'm wrong.
It seems to me FCA's way is to phase new things in.
Has anyone caught new filings for Hemi like the Hurricane was caught for JL ?
