The six-speed is definitely a more relaxed shift than the eight-speed. The eight-speed is tuned in many different forms, but can shift in the blink of an eye, far, far, far faster than the six-speed; but Chrysler tuned the eight-speed to shift relatively slowly in some cars, e.g. the V6 300. I've never had an issue with the 62TE.

if a six speed is shifting, try...
    1) replace transmission fluid, making SURE you are using the right Chrysler one
    2) retrain computer

My experience with the Journey was that the 62TE was a very smooth shifter as long as you were going through the normal 1-2-3-4-5-6 sequence. But if you did certain unusual (due to conditions) throttle applications, then occasionally it would SLAM into a gear, or it might be caught flat-footed and not shift when you needed it. For the latter condition at least there was AutoStick, but the slamming gear engagement was always a rude surprise when it happened.

That's a subjective assessment not all will agree with. Some people like the monochromatic look. Others like a little chrome, or a lot of chrome. The Pacifica trim with a monochromatic trim versus Voyager trim would be a less subjective assessment.

For people that want an upper trim level, but without chrome trim, the Pacifica S is available.

Personally Liked the S trim level more when it was "black chrome" like my 2013 300S than the current S trims that just paint the trim black (and look like the WW2 chrome delete specials).
Early inspiration for the Pacifica S trim package (I know, it's a Dodge):

    Agreed, Pacifica S > Voyager

I'm not a fan of chrome, but the regular Pacifica looks better than the Voyager IMO.

    That happens far too often,

And it's not AutoStick, it's just ERS, so you can only set the top gear.

Update. They still don't have it.

They told me the transmission was supposed to arrive at the end of December, but Chrysler cancelled the delivery.
