Indeed. George was a man ahead of his time.

George Carlin was my favorite of all time. Dude was a genius. Super intelligent and very perceptive.

George was ahead of his time, and not really a comedian, but rather a realist that made whatever he was talking about funny, because he told it like it was :D:p

Can you imagine what he would be saying today o_O:rolleyes::oops::eek::D:p:cool::confused::(;):)

If you live in a hurricane-prone area, makes you almost want to consider living in a trailer. When a storm is nearing, you throw everything inside the trailer, hook it up to your truck, and pull your home, and all your belongings, inland for a few days till the storm blows over. ;)

I had an aunt and uncle that lived on South Padre Island and many years ago, during one of the hurricanes coming into the gulf and the island was being evacuated, they did just that. :)

It would get old boarding up everything and then evacuating, or deciding to ride out a storm, not knowing what's on the other side of it.

That's another reason I'm leaving Florida (besides the fact I hate it here). I'm heading back to the real South where my major concern will be tornadoes. I'd rather deal with them. My new house has a 3/4 basement with NO WINDOWS and a room that I consider safe for my family. I plan on reinforcing it once we get moved in. I will cross brace the floor joists for the main floor and then probably install 3/4" plywood in that room's ceiling. Maybe that'll help make it a little safer.

    Hey Charlie,

You might want to put a lock on the door to that room, that way you can make it your own personal man cave/safe room for yourself, if you ever get sideways with your wife, and she wants to send you to the dog house o_O:rolleyes::oops::eek::D:p:cool::confused::(;):)

Not a bad idea, Rick. She has bad knees and I can always outrun her down the stairs. And my dog is loyal to me, so I'm sure she wouldn't mind sharing a doghouse. LOL
