I thought I would start a few threads about my PT.

I'll start with this one covering my interior mods.

While crawling around in the rear compartment I almost broke a finger after it got caught in one of the openings where the rear seats had been anchored. I decided to try to make flush mounted hole fillers. They are attached with concealed Velcro strips. The home made heat strip[ came in handy during this process.

I did and still do custom plexiglass pieces as a hobby / retail sales.

After I first bought the Pt I noticed that the rear wasn't light up enough with the Hatch open to suit my tastes. I bought an interior dome light and installed it in the inside of the rear hatch.

Care was taken to allow for the amount of blank space needed on the back side of the interior panel on the hatch. It's obviously hooked into the normal dome lights power in the PTs interior. It turns on and off just as the oem dome does.

Everyone that sees this mod says that this should have been this way from the factory.;)

Here is the first of many different shifter handles that I swap out from time to time.

I custom made all of them.

James looks after me while I'm out CRUISING.

I know he was a Porsche fan, but I think he would have liked some of our turbo'd PTs.

Glad to know you're still with us! Since you decided to disappear right after I got the shift knob from you and I even pm'ed people in FL to see if anyone knew what happened to you.

    Darrin-

Glad to see you over here

PTCrew is OK, but there's just too much spam posting to really enjoy the sight and the members. ;)

Darrin, Good to hear from you again!

Actually I didn't decide to disappear, at least not on my own. My heart decided for me. I had another heart attack, which was quickly followed by a mini stroke.

I wasn't on the computer for a couple months and when I did feel up to it again I wasn't interested in dealing with the HUGE amounts of spam and lack of activity over at the other site. I really wasn't interested dating a woman from outter transmagoria or even Naples, Florida for that matter.:rolleyes:o_O

I'm really glad that I stumbled onto this site! The members here are honest, sincere, very knowledgeable without being condescending (does condescending sound familiar?) and they actually want to help their fellow members.

    I love it here.;)

Jerry, I was afraid it was something like that do to the suddenness, glad you're still with us and don't do it again!!!

Good to hear from you also Rick. You both seem to have a habit of appearing and disappearing. . . a lot! :D

Well since this is going to be the new place I better dig up an avatar to use. :)

I thought it was "empherical data" that could cause a heart attack ;)

But it is much calmer over here so hopefully that will be better for you, Jerry :)

'IMPIRICAL DATA', I cringe everytime I hear that phrase.

I love that 2-tone paint scheme of the Dream Cruiser Series 3, the belt line is the perfect place to separate the 2 colors

Thanks, Rick! Every time I've thought about modifying it, I just look at it and fall in love with it's looks all over again. The young lady I bought it from didn't know it but it was sold the minute I saw it! :D

    Jerry-

Too bad you didn't know about the PT Cruiser, while it was still in the designing stages. Imagine what could have been.

If you had known all the different Dream Cruiser Series that they were going to have, you could have made your custom Dream Cruiser Series balls, in all the colors, for all of the Dream Cruiser's. Imagine what the Chrysler contract for those could have looked like ;)

But most of all, your balls could have been world famous

    Thanks Rick!

I did make custom shift balls for the Series 1, Series 2, Series 3 and Series 4. The balls that are meant to replace the shifters the came with the cobra style shifter knob would slide right into place on the old cobra stalk.;)

As of early yesterday, Photobucket has "NEW & IMPROVED" its site and it doesn't recognize my name or password. I've been going through their normal channels to fix the problem with no luck. I checked online and the first public "Photobucket Problems" group site I tried has been receiving numerous complaints about the same problem I'm having, but the site said that as of today, the problem has been solved. The thing is I still can't sign on.

Until I get this figured, I won't be posting any pics except for the very few that I can post in another manner.

I'll keep you all in the loop.
