Oh, good point. That is interesting. I wonder if there’s something about that shape that is naturally pleasing. Maybe it’s some golden ratio thing.

That’s better than the trend to make all cars look like they’re smiling at you...Acura’s from a few years ago come to mind.

Which started with the Neon... though the Neon didn’t make it obvious... [IMG]

It's not pleasing to me... just designers copying each other... “fashion.”

I actually see some similarities with this too, particularly on the lower part of the fascia and the fog light area.

I watched a few videos last night and this update is very impressive. I was a bit unsure in pictures, but seeing the walk-around video, I like it even more!

This is true. Seeing it in person could definitely change my mind. I know I didn't like the 200 much at all in photos and when I saw it in person I came to really like the design.

The plugin hybrid system is now a drivetrain option available with any trim. That is also big news.

I don't see any difference between MY21 Pacifica and average FWD based crossover except for exterior styling.

Oh man, I pulled a vehicle invoice report for a new Pacifica Hybrid last week and now I've got the local dealer ringing my phone and email off the hook. I've even got a regional manager calling me. Wonder if it's because the take rate on the hybrids is kinda low?

At any rate, I'm going to wait for the 2021 models now.

Nice! We need 3 Crossovers now though. A new 300 and perhaps a New Yorker....

I asked for a quote on a Honda Civic Si and three dealers call every day and send emails constantly with new deals... so I suspect it's ever-more-aggressive sales systems.

In case you were wondering, no, I did not buy a Honda Civic. But there is no small Dodge with a manual transmission for sale, last time I looked, in case you wondered; I won't buy a Ford; and is the Cruze discontinued or what?

I just checked a few FWD based CUVs and every one of them had at least 2" more ground clearance than Pacifica.
So what is optimal for a minivan (low step in height) is not optimal in a CUV (higher ground clearance).

I feel like the grill is a little small but otherwise this is a winner.

It does translate well to 300...and it does remind me of a Taurus, but I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. I kinda liked the Taurus, my brother picked up a fully loaded used one with low mileage for cheap, and he really likes it. Too bad Ford screwed it up, it coulda been a RWD sedan like the Interceptor concept, but ended up only getting some of it’s styling instead. A 300 doesn’t have that problem, at least not in its current form.

I showed the pics of the new Pacifica to my wife, and she said she really likes it...though she wasn’t crazy about the rear end changes. We both really like that they’ve added the option for AWD, which was definitely a deal breaker prior to this.

So great, now we’ve added a new Pacifica to our shopping list. :D
