I know you actually meant to say Trackhawk. ;)

Jeep's "performance" models are really closer to Dodge in spirit. Muscular power machines that don't necessarily place much emphasis on handling, which is more Alfa's forte. So there's plenty of room for both I think.

Let's be honest.......Jeep only has ONE "performance" model......and that is the Trackhawk (thanks for the correction!)

It will be interesting to see if they spread the Trackhawk trim to the smaller Jeeps because then it will be 4 and 6 cylinder performance similar to Alfa.

I think they'll at least try. The Compass might actually make a decent Trackhawk. Not sure about the Cherokee, but you can do nice things with a V6. SRT has done turbo-4 jobs before, I don't see their Jeep counterparts skipping it. But I figure if they start upgrading the handling then they might start stepping on Alfa's toes, and that could be an issue.

Still, I'd love to imagine a Compass with a 300 HP turbo 4, 20 inch rims, and a 2 inch drop screaming around a dirt hairpin turn heading for a jump....ok I need to go watch some GRC re-runs. :D

It's a double-edged sword. If they stay out of the booming sectors they risk not making enough return to launch the "relevant" models.

The buying public are not car enthusiasts. To them, "relevant" models are SUVs and crossovers. You don't have to like this fact, but it helps if you accept it.

It will be absolute stepping on Alfa toes as more and more Jeeps start sharing the platitecture with Alfa. Grand Cherokee can retain V8 power versus a twin turbo 6 cyclinder in a full-size Alfa CUV.

The next generation Cherokee (not the refresh) should share the RWD Alfa platitecture and then we will start to see such competition.

I guess we are at least 5 years away from that, though.

Oh look at those lovely torque plateaus....every dyno graph should have peak torque no higher than 2000 RPM.

    That look great in red.
I think it looks better than the Merc GLC and better than the too common BMW X3.
If service levels can be kept up to those manufacture levels, Alfa will be very successful.
