“Mr. Source” has provided new photographs of the 2015 Dodge Challenger, which reveal a grille similar to the one seen in KGP Photography’s spy shots from earlier this week. The grille appears to be derived from the 1971 Dodge Challenger look, and is fairly similar to current models (but with somewhat more chrome). The headlights look different, though that may partly be an artifact of the camouflate. [IMG]
Tail-lights are harder to nail down; camouflaged Challengers with tail-lights showing have been photographed, but it’s hard to tell exactly what’s back there. The body shape looks very similar to the current model. Exactly what has changed between the current “LC” body and the new “LA” is unknown; the primary reason for change is to fit the eight-speed automatic into the car, which will dramatically boost acceleration and gas mileage for the V6 models, while helping the Hemis move faster and..

Same grille as the FF car from a few months ago. Cool!

Could the 2015 Challenger be just basically interior, front/rear fascia changes with a new floor pan and not much else? I think some people are expecting too much.

Isn't that what everyone is expecting? Its a new interior and minor exterior refresh with the new 8 speed transmission and a new Supercharged engine option. That is waht has been known for a long time and what is expected. If anything more than that shows up than it is just a bonus.

Tail lights will also play on the 1971 Challenger theme similar to the ones above. However they won't be as pixeled as those nor the current Charger. The Challenger and Charger both will get up dated rear LED taillamps using the same new technology that the 2014 Durango uses.

That's what it's looking like.. but it does seem strange that they would go through all the trouble of replacing half the chassis, front/back & int. and put the old body panels back on the car.

I assume they don't want to mess with "success". It is a very beautiful design! At the same time, they will have to figure out how to evolve it (like 911s for example).

Plus, in this case the major updates are under the hood! 8 speed and a Hellcat option. And who knows, other engines might see a bump, too. I think the changes are more than enough for my wallet to be very afraid!!!

People love the current styling, why change it other than to add the new lighting?

Now are seeing and reading a little more. Accurate? Most powerful v8? Ok let's do a little math. Most powerful 470hp plus 200hp = 670hp add 8 speed does this equal a quarter mile in the mid 11's?

The only other change I'd like to have seen was a converitble option. But I've already bought another car so even if a convertible was offered I wouldn't be buying one for a while. Plus convertibles just are not selling well.

    Quicker.

With stickies, this should easily be a 10 second car.

I'd like to see a convertible option as well since it would compete with, and I believe beat, the Mustang and Camaro open top sales (percentage of total sales wise). Question: Does the amoritization of the platform decrease the overall cost to produce a convertible Challenger or are the extra costs of engineering, manufacturing, etc specific to producing a convertible make it a moot point?

Convertible ... do you want it to be faster and lighter, or do you want it to be a convertible?

I don't think they have the volume for a convertible at 40,000/year. I think they might do it if the eight speed and new interior and such push it to 70,000.

LOL Sokay, I have thick skin ;) I walk into doozies often. I usually laugh loud enough at them that people around me look at me like "what?" lol.

    On topic:

My Dakota runs 11.50's in race trim. I WOULDNT want to come up against a stock Hellcat Challenger at the track..... I would lose. By at least a couple of lengths.
