Canada probably represents Chrysler’s best performing single market: Dodge Caravan was Canada’s best-selling vehicle for many years, and more recently Dodge Journey has been Canada’s best-selling CUV. Ram is competitively stronger in Canada than in any other market, including the US. Chrysler Canada has been the top or 2nd best-selling automaker for many years.

What a coincidence that Marchionne, who spent his formative years in Canada, would much later end up running Chrysler, with such deep roots in Canada.

I am an adopted Canadian myself and have been a lifelong Chrysler fan.

Auto News posted this feel-good piece on Marchionne and his special affection for Canada: Sergio Marchionne's heart belonged to Canada, especially Windsor

His mother and son live in the greater Toronto area and Sergio was there all the time. As Ralph once said, Sergio didn't really "get" the Chrysler 300, but he did after driving one from Detroit to Toronto and back to visit family.
