Well, I goofed, I didn't see the Chrysler plan hidden in amongst all the other news stories...

BUT, "mainstream" doesn't mean "not more luxurious than Dodge."

Mainstream nowadays isn't a Plymouth Neon...

Thank God SRT is back to Dodge, where it should always have stayed.

    Now that I agree with!

BUT, as I said before, "mainstream" does not mean "less luxurious than Dodge," as it was originally claimed in a response to my post.

Chrysler also was Plymouth after Plymouth was axed. Go take a look at the thousands of Sebrings and base 300s over the years.

    Chrysler is FCA's "Toyota".

Just because it's not in the plan today doesn't mean that it couldn't be added to to the plan in the future.

Hmm. Alfa's new product is set for 2016-2018. New Charger is set for...2018. Interesting. The mind reels at possibilities. :stirthepot:

Nobody claimed that. You assumed that is what he meant when he said:

That seems pretty black and white to me. How exactly did I misinterpret that?

    Agreed!

I always thought it was kind of silly that SRT was considered a brand..... :runaway:

Can't speak to his management capabilities but I can address an accountability concept.

Though any enthusiast/loyalist has to love him, someone needs to pay the price for the ugly mug (and correspondingly poor sales) on the 11-14 Charger.

Poor sales on the 11-14 Charger? As compared to what?

Last 3 years of Charger sales are about half of the sales of the previous SIX years - it's pretty much selling as well as it always has.

SRT as a option as it should have been not a brand. Viper back to Dodge as it never should have left. Now it seems some common sense has prevailed. what next ??

    '11-'14 Chargers are absolutely gorgeous.

If you look at the numbers, 06 and 07 were the high points, when it was a new fresh face, and mostly steadily fell from there (a small increase in '10) and have been trending upwards ever since.

Now clearly the financial fall and subsequent upswing we are still in affected that, but they haven't been poor sellers.

In fact, they are on pace to sell the most yearly units since the Charger debuted for MY'05; 33,046 sales in 4 months. Assuming those figures are accurate.

    Um.

So the Journey is being replaced by an unnamed D CUV and then a D CUV SRT? Could this be the Rebel? I suppose they feel this is just as good as a sedan replacement as well at this point.

Can't wait to see what this'll look like.
