Charger Redeye, Durango Hellcat?
Looks like the new 2021 Durango debut along with the charger redeye and maybe something to the challenger. Dodge’s website hints at all three cars for 2021 debuting.
Triple Play just got a new meaning.
Ordering for the refreshed 2021 Durango opens next month...
I know the allpar crowd is very jaded with Mopar and it's releases...but I thought some would want to banter about this.
By my calculations...with a RedEye Charger and a Hellcat Durango a given...there has to be a thing or 2 more to hit the number.
I am anxious to hear and see what they do.
Some think it will also be the TRX...but I can not see Dodge taking this with their own.
ACR Challenger seems to be dead as a production car. And the 426 Banshee seems to be dead.
But both of those would put the stable real close to the 8950 horsepower of just the supercharged Mopars in the Dodge lineup.
10 days to Chrysler @ Carlisle. Can not wait.
IDK about the ACR Chally being dead. Spy videos showed the TRX, Durango Hellcat, and a Challenger with the Demon hood out testing together.
Just for fun, if we think the 8950 horsepower number is because of distinct vehicles, instead of just a lot of hellcats being shown, let's look at the numbers.
If you don't include Grand Cherokee in the mix, the SRT Powered lineup that we know of (with currently hp values, since 2021 values are not yet official):
485 Charger Scat Pack
485 Charger Scat Pack Widebody
707 Charger Hellcat
797 Charger Redeye
485 Challenger Scat Pack
485 Challenger Scat Pack Widebody
717 Challenger Hellcat
717 Challenger Hellcat Widebody
797 Challenger Redeye
797 Challenger Redeye Widebody
475 Durango SRT
707 Durango Hellcat
That's 7654 Horsepower. With the Grand Cherokee SRT (475) and Trackhawk (707), you are at 8836. Pretty darn close.
Again, assuming 8950 is distinct vehicles, and not just fun and games with a crap-ton of hellcats, here are the possibilities I see:
1. These are the vehicles we see. Then, they up the horsepower pretty much across the board. All base hellcats get the boost to 717, and Redeyes get the full 808 horsepower that demon had. The 392s get bumped up to around 490 horsepower across the board.
2. The vehicles I have listed are "wrong" (in that they may consider the wide body versions the "same" vehicle). In which case maybe we do get a new Challenger variant.
3. AWD Scat Pack or Hellcat Charger or Challenger. I know that's a pipe dream, but damn do I want it to happen. Gotta have a sedan to go with my Durango SRT. The SXT next to the SRT just doesn't cut it.
Side note. Did dodge just get rid of power dollars for July? I can’t find them for anything but hellcats.. my RT Daytona should be arriving any day... so I sure hope not.
Incentives usually take several days to update. Give it till Monday, or talk to your dealer tomorrow to verify. However, I thought they were planning on it going through the end of the year (could be wrong about that).
thanks! Hopefully they just haven’t updated on dodge.com yet.
It is my understanding that the power dollars are going for several more months. I think u are good as long as it is a 2020. I have a Redeye that should deliver any day now its in KZL
Lots of new clips on the Dodge YouTube channel now:
Instagram...spinning isn't winning
Facebook...give them hell
Ha. That never posted earlier.
Add in 1,105 from the 5.7 (375, 370, and 360) and that gets em to 8,759 based on these numbers. But that leaves them a couple hundred short of 8950. I'm curious to see what comes tomorrow.
It seemed at first, the reveal was including just the supercharged Dodge lineup.
Then it seemed it was Dodge SRT.
It definitely isn't the entire lineup.
But either of the 2 I thought, leave room for something very impressive.
It is definitely the Durango Hellcat and most likely the Charger RedEye. But what else could be lurking??!!
Durango Hellcat is roaming facebook now, not my cup of tea but it's gonna sell
Could we see an AWD Challenger Hellcat? Oh boy, that is a game changer. I'm not holding my breath, but that would be sweet. It's already proven itself with the Trackhawk.
For the Durango I noticed a bigger LCD screen and more physical buttons in the center console...
