After the Ford GT and upcoming mid engine Vette I think they should grab a Ferrari platform and make their next super car mid engine as well. Safe to say they achieved every record imaginable with the Viper, now its time to step it up a notch. Think of a Dodge version of an Audi R8.

That may only be a rendering, but God that thing is gorgeous!!!

I highly doubt we're going to see a (properly) new Viper. We (according to the insiders) supposed to get a new sports car (or "Viper" if you will) but that supposedly isn't happening till 2023 or something.

Probably started as a 6c or something. Nice render tho.

From what insider folks have said around here...

The 2020-21 Not-A-Viper will be co-developed with the Maser’ Gran Tourismo replacement (Harold Webster said this was due in 2019), and the Alfa 6C/8C.

It will be FMR layout just as it always has been (Engine in FRONT of the driver. MID-Engined—engine fully within the wheelbase. REAR wheel drive).

It will NOT shave a V10. It will most likely have an as yet unkown GenIV Hemi.

It’s brothers (the Alfa and Maser’) will be out first from a top down trajectory. Each car will have its own distinct shape and personality. The Maser’ withultra refined Italian performance and luxury. The Alfa will have is Italian magical mistique mix of handling, performance and driving experience.

The Dodge will be the knuckle/dragging, take no prisoners, brawler of the bunch-or at least that is what I am hoping.

All said, the 4C will be due for replacement by then, too. Maybe it will need a platform mate or two, and Maybe “Ralph and the Dirty Dozen” at SRT will pull a mid engine wonder out of their hat, along with Not-A-Viper.

"Viper replacement - Dodge will get a Viper replacement around 2023. This vehicle will be based not on the Giorgio platform but an all new architecture that will be shared with a future Alfa Romeo and Maserati sports cars. It will more than likely mass produced and will feature a V8 engine. That is all that is known."

Except it won't be based on a Giorgio platform... instead on a new aluminum chassis specifically for GT cars for Dodge/Alfa/Maserati

See car and driver along with many other magazines get things very wrong, rather get any info from actual insiders then give those views

Welcome to Allpar, we are typically way ahead of the typical print magazine curve. What you shared from the magazine is both inaccurate and well over a year old ;)

So no, it’s not revelation nor all that exciting because of the inaccuracies.
