The interior might be nice but that front end rivals the Lexus for which one wins the ugly stick trophy.

I just posted what the magazine said. I love the 300, bought the wife a 300S last August. Lot of car for the money. Every time I drive it I have a big old smile on my face. Should have bought her one earlier but she loves her 2004 Concorde (and 300M before that). Our son has the 300M and I'm driving the Concorde most of the time.

Funny with all the marketing and magazine pushing it the Genesis sales are awful. Just saying. Look at the numbers.

For having 3 cars and a suv with a starting msrp of 49k they're not doing too bad for being in a segment that they really have no reason to be in after getting spun off of Hyundai. They're very much like alfa but clearly being a Korean brand and catering to different buyers.

Besides that, Genesis resale value is beyond awful. These cars may look good in pictures but in real life they take getting used to......if you can....

The Genesis looks tacky. Inside and out.

I don’t know what you guys are talking about. The new Genesis sedans look and feel like a million bucks. Those interiors are put together immaculately and the materials are top notch. Certainly well beyond anything FCA is capable of.

Hate saying this after being a MOPAR owner since I started driving in 1964.

I’d look into a Genesis G70. I don’t know how well they hold their value, but given that they are not well-known, I’d imagine you can get a low-miles one quite affordably.

The people I know who have bought one love it (it's a sample of only three). And each of these traded another "premium" brand for their Genesis.

In regards to the comparison between the genesis and the Chrysler, one is a luxury brand and one is not. Maserati is fca’s luxury brand. Best to compare those. And the 300 with the k900. The original article compared two dissimilar cars with dissimilar price points and decided on a better value. It’s a fluff piece At best with no real merit.

I was parked beside a 2019 G-90 in Jasper, Ab. last week. The car was beautiful, and beautifully finished, far above any Chrysler I've seen lately. It has a real road presence, solid, spacious, sleek, and BIG. I really like the G-80 though, more my own personal style, esp with the V-8 and AWD. Strangely, when I got home, Motorweek had done a review of the re-vamped 2021 G-90, which is rated better than the 2020 model.
And the 300 got a SRT trim package???

The interior on the Genesis G80 is truly luxurious, and I really think it's better than most of the BMW 7 series and S-class interiors I've been in. Remarkable, but then you see the price. And that's the rub - it is an EXPENSIVE move to truly go play in luxury, and it seems FCA isn't willing to move Chrysler that far above Dodge. Personally, I don't get it - what did they have to lose? Financially and from a dealership experience standpoint, it's a 10 year process with no guarantee of success. Even Genesis, for all the awards, hasn't cemented itself in consumer lexicon on the same plane as MB/BMW/Audi/Lexus.

The launch of the Lexus brand has to be the most successful of the past 50 years. Lexus made a big splash on the market: the LS400 was impressive; the fit and finish was impressive; the level of dealer experience was unheard of; the marketing was compelling; the value for money was evident. And eventually reliability proved as impressive as the rest.

By contrast, the Genesis campaign was marred by improvisation, hesitation and constant changes in direction. By the time the brand got to a place where it could compete credibly against established luxury automakers, it had taken so long that consumers stopped paying attention.

So, there is a 300 Limited AWD for sale near me. Used 2019, Certified Pre-Owned, 12,222 miles. Looked up the original sticker price... $50,270. Ooof. Wanna guess what they are advertising it for?

    $27,590

I feel sorry for whoever the original owner was and the bath that they took on that car.

Yes. Unfortunately, they don’t hold their value.

There are two used 2019 300S V6 near me: one with 12,000 miles is $23,000; the other with 18,000 miles is $21,000. That’s a lot of car for that kind of money!

Call me shallow but for me the brand heritage matters, even if it is only skin deep by now. While the Kia Stinger and Genesis G80 for example are nice modern sedans I would just always feel better in a Chrysler 300. To me that car just says something, means something.

Also, need to see the new G90 in person. New Hyundai Sonata looked good in pictures but not so much when I saw it on the road...
