I came across this on Motortrend and was curious if anyone else had seen the mysterious prototype that was roaming around Miami. IMO, it's definitely a Jeep but since it lacks exhausts and the rear quarter seems to take on an almost Evoque like appearance, it made me think Compass/Patriot replacement. It also seems to be wider than anything previously seen. What do you guys think?

Looks like Land Rover LR4 wheels and an Evoque body. Probably not FCA related in my opinion

Actually, the first post has pictures of two cars. The one shot has some silver alloy wheels that looked like Land Rover style. I'm not sure what the other blacked out wheels are.

The side looks a lot like the Cherokee's ...but, you know, newer. Didn't they promise a more "exciting" Cherokee refresh?

Most noticed the second car and if you read the main article it tells you that it's the CX9 prototype.

Here's another one that gets up a bit closer. As I've pointed out before it would not surprise me if the C CUV was as wide as the current Cherokee but once the Cherokee MMC comes it will take full advantage of the CUSW platform. Right now, the Cherokee is serving as a tweener to cover two segments, the MMC will see it grow into a true D segment model. Using the lighter SUSW platform, they would just maximize it's dimensions so it can compete within the C segment without having to be as long as the RAV4, CX5, Escape, CRV, or Equinox but still land in the similar cargo holding space.

Who sends a mule from Brazil to the U.S.?
Look at the brake calipers of this mule, and those of the renegade.
    Las Vegas is next month.
    Who knows!

If you read the article, "Mystery Crossover Prototype 1" is the Mazda CX9, used as a comparison because one of the editors suggested it as a possibility, which it's obviously not.

I'm not sure it's a Jeep? It seems to have curved wheel wells rather than the typical square openings that are on the Jeeps.Perhaps I'm wrong? Just saying.

Tomaz,I would agree except for the next to the last picture. If you notice the SUV behind a Chevy, the wheel wells are round.

First thing that popped into my head was Mazda or Ford. An update for the escape is likely due up soon. Same with cx9.

FYI I was just told that these are in fact MP production level mules... AKA Compass.

And yes, we can take that one to the bank as "for sure"
