One of the Chrysler press releases called them "carbon-fiber-look" stripes or something like that. They're just stickers.

Thanks for the clarification. I would have been OK with just plain black stripes, so carbon-fiber simulation is fine by me. Still, I'm hoping the overall weight of the car stays low enough not to quench performance...but I'm looking forward to seeing what numbers the new 5.7 HEMI can run, not to mention the updated 6.1.

    Motor Trend tested a 2006 Charger R/T (5.7 L). It ran a 5.9 0-60 mph and 14.1 sec. quarter mile.

6.1 is the same, unless you are referring to the 6.4...?

If I were to be buying a Challenger in the near future, the "carbon fiber" stripes would have to go... If they were real, they could stay. However, as stickers, I'm not THAT big into the carbon fiber look. I'd prefer to have solid black stripes, if at all.

Tirelessly visualizing as we approach launch date.

Just another concept to production image.

    Time will tell...

Some people make fun of the Daytonas for having "stickers". It looks like the same may happen here. Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't alot of the 60s-70s era Mopars covered in these "wretched" stickers?

Is it possible that the start of production is closer than 4/21/08? There is a bunch of information about this car including the invoice. In addition I read that an actual car will be auctioned at Barrett and Jackson next month. What say all.

is there not a "stripe delete" option with the SRT model? I'm assuming the RT and lower end models will have a stripe delete option...

Not for MY08. I think it's safe to assume that the options list will look a lot different for MY09.

Other than the major differences (+ base and R/T models, 3 additional engines, 6-sp tranny, additional colors) the 2009 model features list will be almost identical to the 2008. Not sure about the "stripes" option for 2009 though.

Well finding out the production has sticker stripes on hood is a releif for my wife and I because we rather have a hemi stripe or R/T stripe and felt it would be to much with the hood stripes. Stripe delete here I come. :p Now if they just offer a pedistal mount spoiler I would swop out the duck bill one for that.
