The 1970/2008 comparison photo makes it clear how hugely overblown 21st century pony cars have become. In '70 the Challenger was large compared to Mustangs and Camaros. In the comparison photo it looks positively elegant next to the 2008 car. The current Mustang is similarly inflated.

0-60 in the low fives and 1/4 mile times of under 14 seconds. Isn't that SLOWER than the other SRT-8s???

I would hope that is wrong???

There are no actual performance numbers mentioned.

The '73 Mustang compared to the '65 was a big difference, too.

A current Corolla is a lot bigger than past Corollas. Same with Civics. Same with Accords. It's hardly something that only affects the pony cars.

Those were the targets for the SRT-8 Charger too, and those have dropped into the 12s in stock form....

amazing how the 70 was wider than the new...and how todays safety issues causes there to be more rear shoulder room in the 70 compared to todays.

edit... Does anybody else like the rear end better on the production compared to the concept

I much perfer theproduction to the concept as a whole, but it'd be nice to have the concept's cool taillights.

What happened to the silver gauge surround? Likewise the centre console. Is that on the production car or not?

    Eh?

Side note, both centre and door armrest are leather wraped, nice.

It may have lost some of the "elegance" compared to the 70 Challenger..... But the new Challenger gained a whole lot more aggressive Muscle car stance.

Now.... it just makes the 70 Challenger look "very" old.

In the interior photo, there appears to be a "step on" lever next to the left kick panel.

    A step-on e-brake???

How are you supposed to drift???

But seriously, sporty cars should have center console mounted e-brakes. End of story. I still want one though.

    Aw Shucks...

Im sure the previous Spec sheet on the SRT-8 Challenger had a 3.70 rear gear set mentioned.

Oh well......13/18 mpg is a bit of a shock too.

13/18 is 2008 numbers. I believe that was 15/20 or something for 2007 numbers. Anyway the SRT8 photos and such ARE OFFICIAL.
