The order banks for the 2009s opened at 9 AM today (no pricing yet).

I ordered a 2009 SRT Challenger (hemi-orange) today and got a great deal- the dealer discounted the car approx. $1,250 (split the difference between MSRP and invoice).

The next 4-5 months are really going to drag until the car is delivered!

Gotta admit I like this lower front fascia better.

There's absolutely no good business reason to spend money on TV ads for a car whose entire 2008 production run is long since sold out, and that is getting tons of great (and free) press .

So I read that the mygig option is greyed out, probably in favor of the SRTs initially. :(

What I'd like to know, in absence of official pricing, is can someone please rough in the options pricing based on similar Charger or 300 options, if there is no like-kind, a decent guess. I need to be sure I'm not going to hit 40K on a decently optioned R/T.
I'm ready to pull the trigger, but I need a decent estimate.

    My goal is around 36K

If I may add to this, I read on another board that the track pack (6 speed standard and all the things that go with it) will be an $800 option.

Is there anyone that works at BAP that is willing or able to give us an actual update on Challenger production? About how many customer cars have been built and how many per day are rolling off? When do we expect full speed production and the entire 08 line to be finished?

We are probably up to about 24 a day.
All 2008's will be done by the time we go on our summer holiday(Model Year Changeover). Holidays start July 14th, 2008.

Buddy of mine saw 2 orange ones on a car carrier yesterday leaving BAP..

2 Challengers and the rest were all Chargers. I even bought lunch the other day and went and parked with a view of the highway and 1 truck went by but it only had black chargers on it

I vote for leaving it here until cars are on the street and the launch news dies down. Soon, definitely, but maybe not yet. Thanks, Dave!

I ordered a 2009 from my dealer on Wednesday. I wanted a 6 speed manual. The new car manager said that there will be a problem getting them because no one working there is qualified to drive a manual transmission out the door. He said I might have to wait. Which I will

This seems so stupid that I don't believe what he said. Can anyone shed some light on this?

    Thanks, Linda

No one is qualified to drive it where? At the plant or at the dealership. Sure not everyone drives a standard daily, but 09's will not be made till atleast early August, so theres time for training. You now have to have a license to drive a car inside or out of the plant, and if you don't drive stick, I'm positive training will be provided. Paid to learn how to drive a Challenger... AHHH!, my Dream Job!

I think if a dealership didn't have anyone qualified to drive a manual transmission, I would probably have second thoughts about ordering the car there...

Thanks but that is not what I meant. I don't need option codes.

I am trying to obtain a list of production and order codes that will let me track the build of my car.

For example, what is "D" status and priority code 99?
