The new 2008 Dodge Challenger is in San Diego.

I just saw an orange 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 on the 5 freeway at Del Mar Heights. It looked pretty much like the show car; orange, black stripes on the hood. It was weird seeing on the road in person. It had dealer plates from San Diego Dodge.

Saw my first Hemi Orange baby on a truck parked near my house(Lancaster, CA), local dealer just got a Black one...asking for $66,995...I would take that in a minute if I had the money

Has anyone heard that Brampton will be building the 2009 R/Ts and SEs first, and the SRTs last?

Let's hope so. The cars need to start showing up on lots to generate more interest from those of us who aren't interested in an SRT. It should also help with dealers charging $$$$ over MSRP for the privilege of owning one.

I stopped in Brampton and one of the workers said the 09 Challenger production would start in August--I was there June 13th and there were running some at that time and they shutdown in July for the vacation/changeover- I took some pics of all of the Challengers waiting to ship and may send later

I performed a build and price on a 2009 SE. I put most every option and it came to justover $27K. That is not a bad price. It is a great car for that money. I thendid the same to a R/T and it came to just over $37K. Again a really good price for what you get. I can not wait to see more on the raod, it is lonely being the only Chally around.

I priced an R/T out at a touch over $36K, although there's about few grand worth of crap in there that I don't want but have to order to get what I do want. That kind of crap annoys me.

The price is decent for the R/T. I had hopes that it'd start a little lower. I'm willing to give up the luxuries of the Daytona for a 2-door with a Hemi and 6-speed. Sadly, I priced mine to an MSRP of $31,000ish and that's something I definitely can't afford.

It's a sad day in my world. BUT, I still love my car. Oh well.

I priced an R/T. On the SE and RT, the only seats available are low back, cloth. That pretty much sucks.

Even the old slant sixes had high backs. Everything else seems OK.

On the NHRA drag races on ESPN earlier there was a commercial with Don Garlits and his 392 crate hemi powered dragster and then a few clips of the new Super Stock Challenger... I couldn't find any footage on youtube, but I think the car debuts Sunday at the race in Colorado...
