Hey, that's single screw weight savings to boost mpg right there. It's not their fault the government is slow to implement the center hole license plate! DOT and EPA need to get on the same page here... :p

It is the China Jeep. It's that we're getting a Chrysler soon that shares a lot of parts, so the Commander is a good starting point to test the Chrysler in the US.

Styling is subjective so there are consensus, that's all we have the Caravan sucked the life out of the margins, the original had one of the most awkward bumper lines since the 62s.

They aren't selling the K8 here, and they are not going to be driving around in the daylight either new Chrysler. PS the Chinese will eat the K8 up, its not boring its classic looking, which is appreciated in that market.

just needed to integrate the wheel flares into the fender rather than make them a tack-on plastic part.

Say what you will but there is such a thing as proper porportions, that is why some things stay good looking forever and others just fade away. An XKE will always be great while the Nitro is best forgotten. One of the reasons that the original 80's era Caravan sold so well is the porportions were spot on, the Pacifica is a blob on wheels with a luxury interior that is a little to nice for Minivan duty.

Blob on wheels is pretty harsh. I agree that as a Chrysler, I cringe to think of using a T&C or now Pacifica as a "working" vehicle, that's always what the Caravan was for in my view. Even as a mainstream brand, I would prefer to see every Chrysler model start a tick higher on the scale than its competitors and let Promaster have a Tradesman/rug rat hauler model minivan.

You are right, my blob quip was over harsh. I admit I never considered the Promaster as a people hauler/work truck. Guess I will see what evolves next.

    (ProMaster) Ducato passenger: https://limonsocialapps.com/fiat/ducato/img/dmini2.jpg
    (ProMaster City) Doblò passenger: http://www.plattsvancentre.com/images/vansales/FIATVANS2015-DobloCombi-001.jpg

There's also Ducato Long wheelbase with seating for seven offered in Europe (3 in row 1; 4 in row 2). These are popular as they allow a crew plus tools and materials to get to a site in one vehicle. A different version combines a 7-seat front cab with a drop-side flat bed behind.

You mightn't know, but in order to get around the US's 25% "chicken tax" on foreign-made cargo vans, all ProMaster City vans actually arrive on US soil as the passenger version (five seats, not seven). The seats are then removed on landing, and sent back to Turkey for re-fitment to later vans.

Yeah, it was just the base models that had the dumbler-era cheapness with unpainted flares.

The interior wasn't great either, but I did like the vehicle.

Another one of those vehicles that I've like to see with a mild exterior refresh, the 3.6L and a new interior

I wonder if the Pacifica might get this combo at the refresh or if it'll have to wait for a full redesign. I'm hoping that by the time our van needs to be replaced there will be more hybrid options from FCA.
