I’ve seen gen 3 hemi punched out 426 and 440 ci displacements. With the camaro and mustangs encroaching on 392 power levels, and the sizable gap between current 485 and 707 hp levels, with the possibility of a higher hellcat rating, I see a big gas hemi upgrade as inevitable.
perhaps with a mild hybrid/48 volt electric accessories, the crank hp rating could get a 15-20hp bump in removal of parasitic drag alone. (Meant to quote you, not reply. Thanks for all the hints)

The only thing that gets in the way of a more powerful Hemi, is Emissions.

Except that’s not completely true. Hemi is not going away and it’s not going to wither on the vine either

FCA would rather pay the CAFE fines at this time as sales and profit will cover the average fine of ~$1700.

I do wish the next SRT comes with a bigger displacement than 392.

I made a mistake, it was the AMC 360, not the 304. What if the 360 had the same stuff as the 4.0? Well, it still would not have been as efficient; the 318, much as I loved it, responded well to all that modern stuff but couldn't hold a candle to the Hemi.

Point is, the new engine has a lot of cool tech and outperforms the V6 in every meaningful way.

What about longevity? Toyota’s managed to get absurdly long lives from the Prius.

Why would we thank them? Every Allpar member, and each and every American are responsible for keeping Tesla afloat, should thanks even be given?

 Actually, I do, just thinking about financial origins and money spent on a company, owned by a millionaire, yet kept alive on others money, sounds all too familiar

I'm actually excited about the prospect of a new I6 engine. I don't care if it's called a Hemi or slant. I just hope it can be had without being a hybrid and stop start. Wouldn't even care if it didn't have a turbo. I loved every I6 I've ever owned.

Well, V8 sounds better. To be honest, I think it’s funny to call it an I6 HEMI engine. Unless, if the FCA want to rewrite the history.

Pretty sure there's been a few I6 Hemi engines back in the day.

Well the first of the many power train upgrades to come has been dropped...

The eTorque mild hybrid system has now been debuted on the new 2019 Ram 1500. This is not merely a bolt on system. It is a complete overall of the vehicle electric architecture along with engine and transmission controls upgrades to give the new Ram up to 90 lb.-ft. of torque to the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 and up to 130 lb.-ft. to the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 on tap for passing, pulling trailers up a hill, or simply leaving a stop light without sipping gasoline.

There is much much much more to come.

I don’t think we will see it in the current
Charger or a Challenger because it would take a lot to upgrade those vehicles to 48V

However, those vehicles have other surprises to come.
