Thank you. I'm really looking forward to it. When it finally sinks in, I'll post an update explaining how it happened

Sorry for the HUGE delay in responding and updating. It's finally starting to sink in that on Monday, I'll be working at FCA/Chrysler Tech Center.

Anyways, my interview was set for Wednesday June 29 at 10AM, so I drove up from eastern Ohio on Tuesday.

Went to the interview, and it was a real laid back conversation, wouldn't even really consider it an interview. Following that, stopped at my recruiter's office to give her the low down on how everything went, stopped and got fuel, then pointed my truck towards Ohio and headed home. The manager had said that he would make a decision by the end of the week, but it would probably be today (meaning Wednesday).

I was approximately 20 minutes from home when my recruiter called me telling me that the manager was offering me the job. I was stunned.

Basically, the last 2 weeks have been a whirlwind trying to find an apartment, get paperwork done, get a drug test, finish my two weeks at my current job, and get ready to move.

I'm moving to Rochester Hills on Friday, approximately 20 minutes from Tech Center, and very excited to start my new job on Monday.

Yes, the very best of luck to you! Reminds me of my time 28 years ago when I got the opportunity to do an internship at Atari Corp. in Sunnyvale, California that later let to an employment. It is so energizing when you get to work for a company that your heart follows...

I spent many years using Atari products, from the 800XL to the 520 ST. Even still have a working Jaguar at home. That was a great time to follow technology.

Both you and MOPARGUY413 had the opportunity to work for companies that you also admire. Great to see.

I learned C programming on the Atari 520ST. Have fond memories. When I arrived there I got to work on Atari System V, an AT&T based Unix System V.4 for their TT030 computer. Later worked on TOS for the Falcon and also some on the Jaguar. Those were great times. I am sure it is a dream come true for MOPARGUY413 and am very happy that he gets to follow his dream!

My first week went pretty well. Well, about as well as training and reading about chassis mounts can be.

The guys on my team are awesome, though. We're all pretty close in age, and they've asked me to accompany them on trips around CTC to different labs and whatnot.

The chassis mounts team is split into 2 subteams: body on frame and unibody. I'm on the body on frame team.

You think I'm gonna jeopardize my job after 1 week??!

This is literally the coolest job ever. I get to be around cars, every day, and get paid for it.

Try to get on the Lap of America test program if they still do it. It is the trip of a lifetime and you get paid to do it!
