It's just some random sketch from Mr Gilles, but it can also be seen as what's going on in the mind of the Head of Global Design at the company we love.

I don't know where he was born, but that sketch is a dead ringer for the Alfa Romeo Montreal.

My first thought was a Satellite Sebring Plus. I remember a 'strobe' stripe package on the roof similar to what is behind the doors on this one.
    Next gen Challenger replacement?

Yeah I thought he was born in Montreal.

    Looks like a Porsche 944.

    Perhaps a new Ferrari...?

Wikipedia said born in New York City and raised in Montreal. I don't know anything about Alfa history so Montreal didn't sound like a car name to me, but I guess I was wrong!

I also saw some influence from the 71-74 Satellite and I agree with Aldo about Porsche 944 influence, kind of a mash-up of the 2 designs. Looks good though.

Some of you are thinking too hard and too far into this. This is an actual car already made and was made many many years ago

Alfa Romeo was invited by organizers of Montreal 1967 EXPO, theme of the exposition was "Man and His World".
The car was exposed at the "Man the Producer" pavillion. There were two cars since the installation was made using mirrors so to show many cars to visitors.

Design by Carrozzeria Bertone. Designer: Marcello Gandini (Lamborghini Miura (1966), Fiat X1/9, Lamborghini Countach, ...).

Time from call to concept cars production: 9 months.

I watched Leno's video on his orange Montreal a couple of weeks ago. Superb!

He can say what he wants, doesn't defeat the fact or purpose that it's damn near a dead-on sketch of the original car

Well it also doesn't mean anyone's reading too much into it when he blatantly made that statement.
